Hi all,
This is kind of a strange thing .... I was lying on my bed earlier tonight, talking on the phone....I laid on my back and my side, as usual. I got up off the bed, normally, and went into the kitchen.
When i got there, I felt this ache or pain on the top of my right foot. I propped my right foot up on a chair, under a light to take a look. There was a small swelling about the size of a quarter on the top of my right foot, like the bridge area. It didn't hurt to press on it though. I thought that was odd because I hadn't bumped myself. I put my foot back down to walkk, and noticed that it sort of hurt when I would flex the foot to walk .... so, again, I propped my foot up and had a loook again. The swelling was still there, but no discoloration, just that little area, as if you had bumped it. Shortly afterwards, I began to feel this warm tingling feeling in that leg (right leg), and down on the foot. Now, you know, you start to think all sorts of things, like a blood clot or something. I called the local ER, and explained all this to the nurse, who was very nice, and she said it didn't sound like a blood clot, but was reluctant to give me any info. as to what she thinks it is.
Now, as I'm typing this, the swelling thing has totally gone down, and it is not painful to touch that area of the foot, but every once and a while, it hurts. But, my right leg is STILL warm and tingly..after about 3 hrs.! My husband said it's probably a nerve, which I know can cause that tingly feeling, but can that cause that warm feeling too? I guess so, being that it's a nerve.
I jsut don't want this to keep up till tomorrow, because I don't know what that will mean, .... if I did something to a nerve when Igot up from bed, how long would the effects of that last? Would my leg still feel warm and tingly then for a few days or what?
There is no pain. Just a weird warm tingly feeling.
Oh, and that soreness on the top of my foot, a little. (which began this whole thing). The nurse said that there would be nothing the ER could really do, (unless of course it was a full blown emergency)...andthe best part of all this is, that my dr. just had a heart attack last week, and is in the hosp. himself! This is to much! So, I would really appreciate as much info. as possible about possible nerve symptoms that would affect the leg and foot....and what the heck that swelling was and why is it sore?
I should say here, that for the last week, I had been dealing with (and still have this a little) a sore back. I must have done smoething to it getting out of my car, my car is small, and you have to twist your body to get out! The ache was on the left side of my back, and around my waist...UGH! all week! But, as of yesterday, that is gone. But I wonder if that has anything to do with it.....ok, ladies...thank you so much for your input!
