Some very cautious women are telling me stackers and the like are safe to take and helping them lose weight.  I have been battling for a year, and no matter what I try, it doesn't work. Any experiences? Linda F

Hi,

No experiences but had read articles where other people have experienced bad reactions after weeks..dangerous allergic reactions.

Other people have no trouble, but I have decided not to go that route.

Grace
From everything that I have read, they are not safe to take. IF you are one of the lucky ones, who doesn't experience serious side effects, you will gain the weight back once you stop taking them. There is no easy answer for weight loss. IF there was, we all would be skinny.

IF you are looking to lose weight to be healthy, the best way is to make good food choices and exercise moderately. You want to make a lifestyle change you can live with. No deprivation and no dieting.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks girls - I've decided I'm too chicken to use anything - I am just so frustrated cos nothing I am doing is helping.  I'm debating trying to find a weight watchers meeting I could make, or going back to the dr for something . Linda F

WTG zjsurfer   ohmy.gif:o:o:oThat sure is some accomplishment, be proud, be very proud. kudos too you, just goes to show what determination can do.

And I'm with jeanne  what the heck is a "STACKER"??????????????

Linda F
Jeanne - Stackers is a "nutritional" type supplement that keeps your appetite down, etc. I have decided not to use anything like that. I am trying to track down a WW meeting place to get started. Linda F

Hey, Linda! WW is a good choice. Great guidelines and it really works. There are a bunch of us that are WWers...so if you can't afford to go to meetings, let us know if you have any questions. I do recommend going since the support at the meetings is great.

Hang in there!! You can do it!!

Hi all I am new at this---so here goes smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif Has anyone found from a "nutritional store" like GNC a pill to help those of us who still retain water evan after a hysterctomy???
Linda F
I've never found a water pill, period.  I was wondering about the Weight Watchers- is there a way to find the list of points or whatever without getting to a meeting? I am having a hard time finding one that doesn't conflict with my work schedule or my bedtime (you know, 9 pm!!). Linda F

Linda,

Where do you live?  Perhaps I could help you find a meeting.  If you are in a rural area, you can purchase the materials all at once on line--but not if you are in an area served by a meeting.

ty Linda smile.gif Now I know what a stacker is . I wonder why they call them stackers? I guess I shouldn't push it eh? Heehee. Sally, I take a prescription water pill everyday, but I've seen lots of different ones at the pharmacy. Ask a pharmacist about them . hugs, jeanne

Everyone I know who has lost weight and kept it off went to Weight Watchers.  It is the most normal, sensible diet program there is.  I have 3 friends who spent oodles of money at NutriSystems and bought all their fancy supplements and special food, and while they did lose weight, they all gained it back as soon as they went on the maintenance program.  I know if I ever reach the point where I feel I need to shed a few pounds, I'm heading for Weight Watchers.

And Jeanne...if you ever see the Stacker commercial, you'll know why they're called "stackers".  I might think about taking them if they pushed all the weight from my hips and thighs to me chest!

LOL, LIS...you are right about that commercial!! I can't figure out why they think they need to emphasize implants to get people to try their product.

WW is a good program. You could go to one meeting and pick up the materials that way too!! I know it is not the right way to do it, but if you want the materials and can't get to meetings all the time, it is a way to do it. We could help you if you have any questions. I know it does get expensive for some people. But, those weekly weigh ins do help to keep  you motivated.

Have a good one all....Grace
