OH my gosh I am so sick of bleeding! Last month I started bleeding on CD 18, this month it's CD12! Since I usually bleed for 6-7 days I don't have very much time off when this happens. I was SO looking forward to this week between Christmas and New Year's without bleeding - my husband is off from work and we have a lot of plans.....

I've been checked out twice before for excessive bleeding, endometrial biopsy, saline ultrasounds, etc. Everything comes back fine. I've been offered BCP and sometimes go on it for a few months but I really don't like being on them at my age (I'm 43). My OB/GYN has also offered to do the ablation and maybe I'm ready for that - we're done having children for sure now.

The thing is, I just ovulated two days ago. How can I have my period if I just ovulated two days ago (I use fertility monitoring/condoms for BCP and I have ovulation pain my entire life so I am very in tune with that aspect of things). It's not ovulation spotting, it's full blown period with clotting too, which I don't usually have.

Oh, I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself and venting here. I'm n ew and glad to have found a community like this.

at least mine was a day late. i have been on yasmin, bcp for 3 and half years and its great. i am 43 like you, so i wasn't sure, but it does level your hormones out and i don't get any extra bleeding.

My last period was Nov 5th, lasted 15 days> growl! Then on Dec 21th (my birthday) I got it. Very late this month since it had been arriving every 25 days. Today is full of cramps and heavy bleeding! Great gift Huh?

Thanks, and then to add insult to injury I started having horrible right-sided pains today that were radiating to my back. That, along with terribly sore breasts has me thinking terrible thoughts. I get paranoid. Like, what if I have an ectopic pregnancy? Or some sort of cyst....or ovarian cancer? I've been horribly bloated lately (the excess of holiday food hasn't helped, I'll admit).

My right side is so tender to the touch right now. Paranoid or justified, I think I need to call the doctor tomorrow. Who knows who I'll get the day after Christmas. Who wants to step on a scale the day after Christmas?
