Nevermore

I have gone nuts today searching for an answer. Half the places say there is an interaction (antibiotics making ERT less effective) and the other half say there isn't.
Does anyone know "for sure"?
Thank you.

I don't know for sure but I think there may be some interaction between certian antibiotics and hormone replacement.
I only say this because I know certain antibiotics do make the BCP less effective and these too are hormones aren't they. I remember having a throat infection and being told to take extra precautions as the antibiotics I was prescribed would effect my BCP being taken at the time, but when I had some for something else another time I asked if they would effect the BCP and was told that these ones would not.
Therefore I think it is logical that certain antibiotics will act the same for whatever HRT you have.

Thats an interesting question.
Antibiotics come in different families. Hormones come from different sources. I wonder if the confusion comes from having a matrix to work with... Pick one from column A and one from column B
A pharmacist might be willing to enlighten you. I'd like to hear an answer myself.
