Nevermore
HI!

I'm really 50/50 on Revival. I read good things, and then I read bad things. It's not as if I could just go downstairs and buy it and try it. And if it works it still takes time (and if it doesn't work, or works badly -- as it did for some -- that takes time to figure out, too!)

Please, any new opinions about this product or about effisoy?

If I know something about something, you bet I'll let you know!

Thanks,

Nevermore

Nevermore,

I'd say give it a shot, what do you have to lose? And it could work for you.

The first time I tried Revival it did nothing for me. Drank the shakes for about two weeks. Couldn't stand the taste, they gave me gas, etc. I said enough of this. I put the boxes in the cupboard and figured I'd try them again if I got really desperate.

After that I tried Prempro and several different types of BCP. They made me sick, spacey, gave me bad abdominal cramps, made me so anxious I wanted to scream.

So I tossed out all the pills and eventually tried Revival again. I drank the shakes religiously every night before bed for the full 60 days they say to try it. And you know it worked for me. Slowly but I think they definitely helped.

I've been drinking it for about 1.5 years and since I started the shakes I've been free of night sweats, I've been sleeping much better, my menstrual migraines have diminished to the point of being minor inconveniences rather than major pain attacks. I only rarely get panic attacks anymore (a BIG Yeah!). My period-related IBS is also gone too.

Maybe it's not the Revival, maybe I just cycled out of a bad part of peri. Or maybe the Revival helped because I'm in an early stage of peri when phytoestrogens are supposed to be enough to make a difference. Or maybe it's because Revival has so much protein (20 grams per shake) and perhaps I wasn't getting enough daily protein in the past. Or perhaps I feel so much better because I'm sleeping better. Dunno. But I'm not going to stop drinking them, and I do feel really quite good these days. I'm not taking any drugs or other supplements, nothing except Revival and my Women's One-a-Day.

On a cost basis the Revival shakes cost me about the same per month as what it would cost me for BCP or hormones (bio-identical or otherwise) through my HMO. I'd rather spend my money on food than a hormone pill.

So I'd say give it a try, keep an open mind. What works for one woman may not work for every other woman, as anyone on this board can tell you.

I hope you can find something to bring you relief, because this really is a miserable time of life isn't it?

Oh, by the way, I looked at Revival's patent. Their patent is merely the concept of combining high levels of isoflavones with soy protein under the rational that isoflavones might have an increased benefit to menopausal symptoms when served up with soy protein. As opposed to just taking those isoflavone-only pills which you can buy. So I suppose that if you would eat a soy protein bar in conjunction with popping a few isoflavone pills that might approximate the combination of protein/high-isoflavones that's in Revival. Just an idea. Don't know if this is accurate.

I had investigated simply buying soy protein bars and eating those instead, but at the grocery stores where I shop the soy bars cost roughly the same as the Revival shakes/bars.

I also checked out soy shakes in health food stores and they come a bit cheaper. But I figured why mess with something that seems to be working for me?

Again... I hope you find a regimen to bring you some relief!

Best....

Hi Nevermore, I tries the shakes earlier in the year and they really really helped but I have discovered I am intolerant of Soy which can be a problem for some people so I am really upset thet I cant have them as I really beleived they helped, I would give them a try I think if they suit you they are far less invasive than a lot of other help.
