I am 41 going on 42 & I haven't had my period in 4.5 years. I had low prolactin * normal estrogen but, I am not in menopause. 2.5 Years ago they checked for pituitary problem & it came up negative. I am of average weight.

I have had every test for thyroid & hormone levels & it comes back negative. Went to an internist & had a raynaud ( hand turing blue / white)episode in her office & she told me I maybe at the very beginning of an autoimmune disorder. Other than a twisted colon , sleep problems & severe arthritis.. I haven't been back to the doctor other than the GYN. My GYN had me take a DEXA scan last year & I have osteopenia. I am on Menostar & feel like its making me irritable ... Am I nuts !!!!!

I just had my annual w/ GYN & she felt like my thyroid is slightly enlarged & wants to do more tests.

Is there anybody out there like me???? Does anybody feel irritable ( I am usually mellow) while taking it.

I just don't feel like myself.

Hi, I'm having a similar experience. I have not had a period for almost a year now and before then it was far and few in between. It really struck me when you said your doctor mentioned starting an autoimmune disorder. I believe this is also what is happening to me. For 4 years now I have been on a quest to find out what is wrong with me. Because my periods have never been good or "normal" I naturally made the hormone connection. After sooooooooo many tests (all pretty much negatitive) except for recent blood work and Dexa scan. I too have osteopenia (minimal) and blood work showed me testing positive for two antibodies (antiphosolipid & anticoagulant lupus). This along with the fact that 9 years when I had my daughter, she was premature because of blood clots in the placenta prevented proper nutrition getting to her. This all means that I may have a propecity to have blood clots. This is called APS syndrome and is an autoimmune disorder. Although doctors do not believe my many other symptoms are not due to this disorder.
Oh by the way, I am 42 yrs old and never sick until 4yrs ago.
I wish you luck in your search.
