I am new to this perimenopause. Went to my gyn with the laundry list of syptoms, we all have. She suggested I try birth control via the NuvaRing. At first I had it in for three weeks, then out for a week for a period then back in for three weeks. At my last appointment, I mentioned that the "one week off was hell" and she suggested that I keep the ring in for 4 weeks, then replace the same day with a new ring. If I should start my period, to remove the ring, then replace after my period.

My question is, I have replaced the ring, this past week....and I have yet to have a period (it has been almost 5 weeks straight on the ring).....Is this normal?? and has anyone else been prescribed such a regimine? I am almost 40 and I've been living with major symptoms since April of this year.
