Talked to my doctor yesterday - I told him I wanted to use E and P separately and in a cycle. He is opposed to that. Again I am in peri-M. He wants to prescribe as follows: (if I wrote this down correctly):
.3 mg Biest whole month
25 mg P 15 days, then
50 mg P 15 days.

I think taking half the troche am then pm. Does this sound right?

I have read where others take 100 mg P daily - is that only for cycling? Perhaps lower P if taken continuously? He does not want me "self medicating" as he would not monitor me that way.
I guess I am just being difficult (and scared). I wanted it all separate in the beginning just to test and see how I felt.
Also my insurance (Cigna) uses Teldrug - which has compounding section. 90 day supply $20. Anyone ever used Teldrug?
My doctor is checking to see if they are reputable.
What I hate - is buying this stuff - and if something is not right - you just have to toss it? After all the tests - I am so broke - and for now - just wanted to use Teldrug in case it all goes in the trash.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Never heard of Teldrug... sorry.
However, I do agree that you should try one hormone at a time until you understand how you react to it. If your body needs Estragen, then using the Biest first alone will tell you how your body reacts to it and how many of your symptoms it will control. The reason he doesn't want to let you use E without P is to protect your uterine lining. However, for a month or so it's probably ok.

For me, that was the ONLY way I would work with my doctor. I explained to her that I am highly sensitive to medications of any kind and something react differently than expected. If we started with multiples we'd never know which was helping or causing problems. So I started with Estradiol cream (have since switched to the Vivelle Dot) and then added P cream continuously - I'm on a tiny dose becase so far anything over about 3.5 mg puts me into a lethargic depression. This seems to be handling most of my symptoms and has improved my mood tremendously.

I also take a tiny amount of testosterone cream on high stress days and LOVE it.

Good luck. Keep in mind that once you've got the script in hand you may be able to "play" with the doses yourself to see how you react. Just make sure to keep a good running chart of what you're taking and how you're feeling so you can look back and determine what's working and what isn't.
