Has anyone experienced a tingling burning sensation all over their body accompanied by slight redness? You can't tell I'm red looking at me, but if you press a finger to my skin you can see it blanches. Sometimes the itchy tingling feeling is just on top of my left shoulder. Other times it's in my cheeks. Then it just moves all over the place, anywhere from my knees, chest, neck, ankles, to my butt!

I'm 38 years old and I've been feeling like crap for the last 2 years. Everything from UTIs (I never had one before I turned 37), to heavier periods that now last 9 days (they used to last 5), to insomnia, tendonitis, Raynauds, muscle aches, numbness in my thumb, and just feeling blah.

This burning sensation has been going on for the last week. Right now the tingling is in my left cheek, chest, lower neck, left shoulder and upper arm, and right below my lower lip. What has me freaking out is the redness that you can see if you touch it. To look at it you can't really see it, probably due to my summer tan. If anyone else has experienced this, please let me know before I run off to yet another MD!

I'm so glad I found this site. I feel it will be a godsend! Thank you ohmy.gif)

Funny I just came here to see if I could learn more about this. I started to get hot flashes about 4 mo. ago...intense hot flashes and I have noticed, over the past couple of mo., that I get these pricky sensations here and there and that my skin seems like it is burning sometimes, more so on the upper half of me especially the arms and face...odd. I'm getting it now and it feels like it is just below the surface of my skin it is hard to describe. Does it have something to do with hot flashes because that is when mine started to show up. Again new symptom and I am a little worried wondering is this hormones too? Just to let you know I am feeling it too...what ever it is I will keep an eye on this thread to see if there is any insight. HUGS Mikki

I might add when this burning happens I would say it is a hot flash( cause that is what it sounds like) however when I flash I get sweaty, heart races, shaky, and anxiety...maybe it is a baby flash rolleyes.gif I really don't know

Hi girls,

Just thought I'd comment on the burning skin issue. I'vd been getting that too, but mine seems to be just in the upper chest area. Feels hot a lot of the time. Sometimes, one can see the redness, but the feeling is there even when the color is not. I think it is related to the perimenopause, because I never had it before. I guess I have a little across my upper shoulders too. Just noticed that. I think you might be on the right track about baby hot flashes, but I don't have any medical proof.

I've had the burning tingling sensations in the back of my legs, shoulders, arms, lips, face, even my head...never with redness.
But, I do get this warm flushed feeling through out my body.
Could be you get the redness, because your skin is sensitive.

Went through the UTI's, never had one before meno.
Was taking benadryl at bedtime for insomnia, doctor told me recently that could have caused the UTI.

My absolute worst symptoms, have been insomnia, health anxiety, panic, depression, ringing ears, blurred vision, tingling sensations, sore achy muscles...WHEW!!!
Do I sound like a hypochondriac yet? unsure.gif
Never was before....with time the symptoms do seem to let up, and not be as severe...thank goodness.

Find my symptoms seem to cycle, with no set pattern for me.
I keep a journal, so I can hand it to my daughters, when time comes.
How many times I wished, my mother, was here to guide me through all of this...she never ever complained.
I always thought menopause was just a hot flash or two, who would have thought....all of this?

When the symptoms first started for me...I ran from doctor to doctor, even hit the ER a couple of times. Ran all the tests, time and again.....

Peace of mind is priceless...I was so glad to find this site.
Glad your here!
