Hi-
I found this forum by googling some of my crazy symptoms and am happy I found it! I'm 38 and have been experiencing weird things for a little over a year now. It started with major unrelenting panic attacks, then unexplained weight gain all around the middle (despite exercising 5+ days/week), then buzzing in the head (thought I was going insane with that one!), then occasional sweating, but nothing I would classify as a hot flash, then my bad cholesterol went high after being low forever. Now, my "old faithful" cycle has gone from a predictable 28 days, to 29, 28, 29, 29, 31, 27, 29, 31 and now 36 days! sometimes light, sometimes heavy.

OB-GYN said it can't be hormonal because you're still getting a period. Regular doc says here, take these happy pills.

There are the pieces of the puzzle, what do I do now? How's that for an introduction? smile.gif

Appreciative of any insight--

My first sign that anything was wrong was my periods became like yours...really inconsistent as to timing.

I had had 28 days cycles for almost 30 years, and then I started getting 26 day cycles, then a longer cycle, etc.

When I look back now, there were lots of other things, but I didn't recognize them as hormonal, I just knew the period thing was hormonal.

My cholesterol after being "low" for many years also went bonkers, as did my BP. I've been able to control both without medication, thank goodness, but it was just so weird to have them go "off" at the same time, I should have known it was hormonal, but it never crossed my mind.

I also had always been the same weight my entire adult life, and chango, presto, I gained 15 lbs....that just wouldn't come off.

As to the doctor who says it's not hormonal...just ignore him! It's easier than trying to find a new doc that believes it is.
