Is it possible to have night sweats but not have hot flashes? About 4/7 nights I need to change my shirt, sometimes twice, but never had a hot flash in the day. Am I just lucky thus far? I am still very young (44) and wondered if the sweats naturally come first.

I am 41 years old(soon to be 42)and i have both hot flashes and night sweats,but i don't remember which came first.My older sis is 49 years old,post meno and just started having night sweats for the first time this past week but has had hot flashes for years.We are all different in what we experience.

YES YES YES!!! LOL I got night sweats for a few years before the flashes came. I didn't get the flashes until my periods stopped. Between 37 & 45 I only got the night sweats. Now at 47 I deal with both. And, no offense LOL, 44 is prime age for perimenopause. Peri can last 10-13 years and if meno's average age is 51, well, you can do the math! Keep your great attitude!!

I had night sweats for 3 months last year and haven't had them since. I never had any hot flashes (yet). I am 51 now and have only had 2 periods this year. I am hoping I won't get them but I guess I will have to wait and see. Most of the women I work with all had hot flashes but no night sweats. Our vet told me she has been having night sweats for almost 2 years every night. I guess we are all different..
