ok, I've posted this here before and you'll probably recognize it, it's just that I can't stand this anymore! I posted here about a month ago or so, that every month, within 5-10 days of my period, my vaginal area become tender and itchy! To some degree it's inside the vaginal lips as well, but mainly on the outside of the lips where the pubic hair line starts (running vertically up and down along the outside of the lips) and in the crease of your legs, where your underwear would sit. Now, I try to think it's just sweat, yet I know I didn't used to get this EVERY MONTH LIKE CLOCKWORK till May. I have to live on Vagisil to stop the itch and tenderness...this is ridiculous! Usually, once my period is over, the itching and tenderness go with it......does anyone else have this problem.....what the heck does this sound like?

Thanks ladies! smile.gif

I have it mostly right after my period. Intense itching, swelling. It is clearly hormone related. I too, wish that it would stop and live with creams.

THANK YOU BOTH! I will try the vitamin E capsules immedialtey, this is so darn annoying! Yes, I seem to get that swelling somewhat too, and it's as if it feels "sore" on my vaginal lips, FROM NOTHING! GEEZ! blink.gif Yeah, I think it's probably hormonal as well. Well, thank you ladies, I am so glad I found this site! biggrin.gif

This may sound silly but have you tried switching soaps? I've used some soaps in the past that are very irritating to that area. There are a lot of soaps with unnecessary ingredients. Perhaps the area becomes more sensative to those chemicals at certain times of the month. Try a soap for 'sensative skin' or a hypo-allergenic soap that is free of dyes, perfumes and deodorants.

Could you have a yeast infection (Thrush) that gets set off by hormones?

I have had the exact same thing. I thought it was also sweat-related, as it was in the 90's outside when mine started. In the same exact places, too. In the panty line, and the hair line on the vaginal lips. When I had my pap, my Dr said I did not have a yeast infection. He (the quack) said it was heat related. But yet it comes like clockwork every month. I tend to think it's
hormonal. Plus, when I've had yeast infections, the itching was in a totally different place. laugh.gif
