Hi All - I'm Lee. A newly diagnosed blood disorder is forcing me to quit HRT after using it for five years. I need to start weaning off Monday.
BUT . . . either I'm having menopause symptoms while I'm still on HRT, or I have some terrible illness! Is it possible to go into menopause while still on?
Today I was absolutely convinced I had a blood clot problem. I was so sure I would have to go to the ER that I shaved my legs!!! I had intense pain in my left arm, shoulder blade and back of neck. Was very weak and shaky, felt flushed, nauseous, and totally exhausted.
I've been to the doc several times for the left arm pain - it really kills. Any breeze or cold chill on it makes it throb. But she says it's stress related, not a heart problem. Would stress cause such a specific pain so consistently?
This is a great site! I need to check into bioidentical's, I guess. My "weaning off" process is to alternate days with HRT and black cohosh, for a month, then every two days, etc.
Thanks,
Lee

Lee, since you have had the heart trouble ruled out, I can tell you I and many others here have and suffer from the left arm pain and yes I was once told by a doc that it could be hormone related.
It can be very scarry and painful, do you take any tylenol or motrin for pain? I do try and stay away but when the pain is too bad I will take a few pills just to help.
What really, really helps is heat, I lived with a heat pad for months and months, I also use creams you can try like Icy-hot or there are these hot creams that get really hot but melt the pain away.
I dont have any answers on the HRT's but there is a wealth of info on the other threads or Dearest has a huge amount of info, do try the heat.
I once read on another website before I found PS, that a husband was asking a doc. and it did happen before her period and the doc suggested the Vagus nerve, and this also ties in with the hormones, so try not to worry and good luck on the weaning of the HRTS, take care, Tinkybug
