Hi,

Just an update on me. I am in peri, but I asked for a endo-biospy for just to be sure. Lo and behold my biospy showed complex hyperplasia with severe atypia. My only option is a hysterectomy. This precancer is at a 7 and 10 is cancer. I have NO option.

So, my irregular bleeding turned out more than peri-meno. You know they do those yearly paps, but I feel they should do early endo-biopsies too. I"d never have known this had I not requested the biospy. This biospy saved my life.

I am very scared. My surgery is 9-6-06 I am able to have a laparoscopic assited vaginal hysterectomy.

so, the moral of my story is this.....yes we have peri-meno symptoms, but they're not always from peri..get those yearly exams..if something does not feel right..don't just assume it's peri...get the biopsy, tests..etc....and know for sure.

This will put me over night into meno now...so I will see you all again. I'm not sure if some of you remember me posting about all the irregular bleeding I was having.. I never thought it would turn out something so bad. I will be ok though.

Hugs

Countryangel looks like your womens intuition payed off with you, do keep us posted having to wait for sept. must be hard but the good thing is that it seems as if the hysterectomy will be done thru the vagina, is this a new procedure ? I will keep you in my prayers, take care, Tinkybug rolleyes.gif

Oh, Countryangel, ((((BIG HUGS)))) wow, I am so sorry you have to go through this. I can imagine how emotional this must be for you, as it's a big thing. At least you caught it before it got worse -- that's the most important thing. I know there are many women here who've had hysterectomies, so you will have plenty of comfort, encouragement and advice. Be sure to keep coming here and posting and talking -- we'll get you through this and you'll be okay!

Love,

My Girlfriend was in the same place as you, only that she had paps for 1.5 years coming back with mild dysplasia. She had her uterus out 2 months ago and they found the pre-cells up at the endometrium and now never felt better.
If you are able to control bleeding with hormones it usually rules out another cause of an organic reason. Scary when you need to request your own biopsy. My Dr. has it on his list for next procedure if my bleeding dosen't stay regulated....but it is looking good for me.
Keep your chin up. You'll be o.k. and you did yourself a great deed!!!!!

countryangel: I'm so sorry you have to go through this, but at least they caught this in time. Your intuition paid off; I'm glad you had the biopsy. Every woman in my family older than me has had a hysterectomy, many because they had atypical cells that were precancerous (others for different reasons) and everyone is still around and kicking. Hang in there and stay strong; you'll do fine...I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

Hello Girls,

Oh thank you so much for your kind words and reassurance. They helped me so much.

I have already checked out the hysterectomy board here. Great info there and others going through it.

You all have a great evening/day. You were all so sweet to answer me smile.gif

Thank you for your post Countryangel. So many of us are confused as to what's going on with us and aren't getting biopsies done because we try to convince ourselves its only peri (and it often is). I refused a biopsy a few months ago because the gyno wanted to do a full d&c with hysteroscopy under a general. I got a second opinion, and the second gyno didn't think it was necessary (though I do have bad irregular bleeding & spotting...in fact I'm going to read your old posts to see if it sounds similar). I then tried to find a gyno who'd do a simple endomentrial biopsy in the office (I've had lots of drug reactions in the past and I'm very frightened of anaesthesia). I called around last week, then didn't pursue it. You've given me the inspiration to make sure I get it done, hopefully this week so I can either deal with the results or put my mind at ease.
Thank you again...you may have saved me. I'll let you know how my biopsy goes.

Hi countryangel:

I noticed your post about needing the hysterectomy, and that it was scheduled for last Wednesday. I hope that everything went well, and that you will be feeling better soon.
