I've been thinking that something is seriously wrong with me or that I may be dying. I stumbled upon this site and am so glad to finally know what's wrong with me! I suspected peri, but didn't realize that so many of my symptoms are normal.

It started about a month ago, right before my period. I thought I had a flu bug or something. I felt feverish/sweaty, dizzy, lightheaded, and nauseous. My period came and went as normal, then I felt back to normal and fine for the next 25 days or so. Now this month, I am about 5 days from my period starting and I'm feeling the same symptoms again. I thought I was going crazy! I am worse in the morning...I feel anxious, not myself, crabby (hence, my username! biggrin.gif ), shaky, heart palps, nauseous, and generally like I'm coming down with the flu. I've been very crabby with my Dh and kids because I was actually scared that something was seriously wrong with me! Dh has been asking me for sometime if it could be peri and I just dismissed him because I didn't think there were so many symptoms of it.

I have a wedding to go to this weekend, which my kids (5 & 7) are involved in. I have been dreading it because I didn't want to feel lightheaded and sick the whole time, on top of feeling nervous for them as they are in the wedding. I've been so nervous that I would pass out or something right in the middle of the wedding. I can't express how glad I am to find out what's really wrong with me and that I don't have some disease or horrible illness!!!!!

Has anybody here actually passed out with their dizziness/lightheadedness? unsure.gif

Sorry to ramble on and on; I'm just so grateful to find others that are going through what I'm going through and that I'm really going to be okay...someday!! smile.gif It will be easier to muddle through it all now that I know what is causing it!

Hi Hot & Crabby

Can relate to your feelings. Although I have not passed out I feel I have to sit down and put my head between my knees to stop myself from passing out. I find the more I worry about it the more anxious I get and the more I sweat, etc. I have started yoga breathing when the feeling starts and I try to just sit quietly and focus on my breathing. Works okay!

Hi there, your symtpoms sound very familiar to mine, especially before my periods as well. I have a flu like sickness for days before, and even at time afterwards, bad enough at times, to put me right in bed for a few days. I do get that feeling of light headedness, or somewhat diizzy, I can't really explain it, it's just feel like a weird feeling rushes over me. Fortunately I have never passed out, I just take a deep breath, and the feeling usually quickly disappears. I can understand your concern about feeling like this, as I was when it first started happening to me. But after reading thousands of posts from other brave women, I realized it just wasn't me. I also talked to my doctor about it, and she didn't seem too concerned about it so I just chalked it up to be yet another peri symptom. Talk to your doctor, so he or she can rule out anything serious, and then perhaps you won't feel so afraid when these feelings do happen to you.

Me too! I'm so glad I found this place and though I hate that others are suffering like I am at least we're all in this together right? The dizzy/off balance feeling is the most unsettling symptom that I have. It seems to be worse at night for some reason and I let it make me crazy most of the time. I worry I'm going to fall in front of everyone if I'm walking in public or I begin to panic about it and it makes it even worse. Do you also feel as if your legs are weak and might not support you? blink.gif

I don't know what the deal is with feeling so weak. I also have hypoglycemia symptoms so it could be that too but it's really annoying isn't it? I didn't have hypo symptoms until I started peri either. Go figure.

Yes, I feel that way, too. I usually have to sit down for a few minutes when I get dizzy/lightheaded. I don't think I'll actually pass out, but I don't want to take any chances!! unsure.gif

My symptoms seem to be worse in the morning and then I'm back to normal for the afternoon and evening. Weird!! rolleyes.gif

H&C:

Well this has been a really bad few days for me. I'm so exhausted and weepy. I'm having a period, but get this.....I started last Saturday (a week ago) - felt "ok" not a lot of cramping or my usual migraine but then on Tuesday morning I woke up feeling GREAT. I did not bleed at all that day. I had energy and my mood was terrific. Then late that night - I started cramping and bleeding again and since then I have felt just awful.

What do you make of this? Whatever the hormone that surged the day I stopped bleeding....I want that all the time! rolleyes.gif

Hi Ladies

Well I am now on my 8th day of bleeding (and that is after going on the low dose pill and not taking the sugar tablets!!). Doctor told me I can go on this pill and skip periods for as long as I want. After being on it for 6 days started spotting and then after 25 days wham - period. Back to the doctor for me! I guess my hormones are just too strong for this pill, will have to try the heavy guns!

My latest thing (woke up yesterday with it) is the metallic taste in my mouth. Everytime I go to eat something I get this metallic taste that makes everything taste like it is wrapped in foil (aluminium wrap). It plays havoc with my fillings! mad.gif Still does wonders for the waistline as I don't want to eat at all. biggrin.gif

Have had a headache too but luckily it has not been of migraine proportions which I was suffering prior to going back on the pill.

Mentioned before, I have also discovered that I have varicose veins around my uterus which at that time of month makes it all the more painful. Luckily this bleed has not been too bad. Have only felt slight pulsating rather than the chronic pain and cramps before going back on the pill.

My mood and state of mind is of concern though, have felt like crying at the drop of a hat and I have had to bite my tougue several times to stop myself from going off at my partner and work colleagues. All of whom I think are just so over it!! At least they don't have to cope with it from the inside. rolleyes.gif

Anyway that is me today. Hope others are having a good day!

Hi and Good Morning Cheryl,

Hang in there. I don't know what today is going to bring, but I began to feel slightly better late in the day yesterday and this morning have a bit more energy than I have had in several days. I too am on my 8th day of bleeding - but I stopped for a full 24 hours on day 4. Go figure. I don't know what in the world is going on anymore. huh.gif

I haven't experienced the metallic taste yet but that's got to be most annoying. If I can get through the day without the "dizzies" I count it a pretty good day.

Have a pleasant day yourself!
