HI everyone. OK so I am at 7.5 months of these tremors and they are just getting worse. I am taking magnesium, Omegas, taurine, etc. I also got an RX for bio identical progestoerone (going on 3rd month) anyway...the tremors are just getting worse. befor ethey used to be only at 5am when they woke me everyday, and on and off during the day and then bad right before and during my period.

Now they are about 20/7. They seem to be getting stronger. I just finished with 10 acupuncture treatments that were useless.

Does anyone have any advice or any idea of how long this crap lasts for. I know I am not the only one going through this so I wonder how others are coping.

Thanks for your time and sorry for whining. It is just really, really getting me down. I'm tired!

Jenny

I started getting the internal tremors around 3 years ago. It got worse to the point where I could feel it everywhere in my body 24 hours a day. I really don't remember how long it lasted like that, but it did get better. I don't notice it all the time anymore and it is usually in a small area of my body. None of the remedies appeared to work for me. Hang in there. They do say that these go away with time.

HI Dianne,

Thanks for the post. I just am trying to get a grasp on how long I will have to go through this. It seems like everyone is different. So yours has been 3 years? UGH!

For awhile I actually thought it was getting better. Now it is pretty much all the time and I am back to the racing heart. That I thought was gone for good, wrong.

I was on a beta blocker from April until July to keep my heart rate normal and in July I weaned myself off with my Dr's OK. Now after spending 4 days with a heart rate flirting with 108, I had to break down and take a beta blocker again. sad.gif Now this morning I not only was woken up by my infamous internal tremors, I also had the racing heart beat.

That little feature I hadn't had since March. So with all the supplements, Dr's I've been through (14), tests and treatments to try to get a handle on this...here I sit, right back where I started from except my tremors are now much worse. UGH

I know this is a crazy thought but couldn't an endocronologist be able to figure out how to fix this crap? I've comtemplated going to one but it's almost like I can't stand to have to hear myself tell my story to one more Dr. After 14 Dr's all giving me that blank stare, I just don't have a lot of faith in Drs's any more.

This peri-meno monster has been now with me 7.5 months, cost me my job, my relationship (almost), our relocation and enough money to buy a car. I'm about to start waving the white surrender flag. I just have to look for it, I can't remember where I left it! LOL

Thanks for listening.
Jenny

Hello JennyJJJ

Tremors my goodness gracious me do I identify with these. I too feel like mine are getting worse and I have increased my beta blocker. I have to say some days when they are slightly less I am able to say to myself well it will all pass and I will handle it. The only reason why I can say this is because of this site where so many of the ladies experience internal tremors. Of course me being me I always say to myself surely the ladies tremors are not as bad as mine and I convince myself thatmaybe mine are not peri related ., then I read the different experiences and thick logically and tell myself that it is peri related as the neurolgist has done an MRI and there is no other reason for my tremors except the fact that I do have Basic essential tremor of the upper body. Not that you can see it. However he has not told me what the tremors in the rest of my body are.

Today I had a shocker because I had a headache second to none which seem to make me more off balance and tremulous that ever. Do you find when you have a headache or a cold that the tremors are worse?

All I can say is that last Thursday I had the best day I have had in a year and I tell myself that if I can still have one good day there is hope for me and you and everyone else. So many of the ladies tell us all will pass . I have bought myself a very good CD meditations for a difficult time and tremors and all I lie down on the floor and listen to it. In fact lying down on the floor I feel the tremors even worse. Do you find every if you pick up a heavy parcel or do something like tidying up cupboards etc the tremors get worse. Well mine do and I too feel like I am going crazy with them. I tell myself though all the time maybe tomorrow will be better and try the best I can. I have increased my beta blocker as suggested by the doctor but then again I wonder if they are making me worse. I see him next week and maybe I will have more light on the subject. I am so grateful for all of the posts as though I dont wish suffering for any person it is a great comfort to know that we are not aliens as one would feel without PS

Hello Flying Fairy~

Thanks for your post! Yep, if I am cold they are worse, if I have a head ache, they are worse, if I am getting my period they are worse, If I lay down they are worse! UGH! I figure the only time they are better is when I am riding my bike. OK so it is 50 these days so my bike riding is ending soon sad.gif

I have found nothing that really helps me. Even Magnesium....I've tried not taking it to see if it gets worse and it doesn't so that means to me that the mag isn't really helping.

I have the mediation CD thing too...this is what I do....I have an exercise 2000...it's a glorified Chi machine....OK so when I get woken at 5 am with the tremors...I lay down, put on a healing meditation CD, put on eye pillows (you know the things people use on planes so they can sleep) put on the head phones, and turn on the chi machine....it wiggles your body from your feet....I actually like it because it seems to make the tremors go away for a little while. So I kind of make a spa get away out of the situation.

The problem is that now my tremors are all of the time so I will be in the chi machine all day and night.

Are you taking any hormones? I take bio identical progesterone. Can you email me after you talk to your Dr. about your Beta blockers and the tremors? I love to hear what they say. I jsut wonder if there are any Dr's out there that REALLY know what causes the tremors and how to treat them. You know?

Well thanks for the post. It is so comforting to know I am not alone.

Jenny

Jenny,

I had internal tremors. They lasted probably a couple years. Nothing seemed to help as far as supplements, etc. Soy actually made mine worse, and it also made me "flash" more...so go figure.

When my periods started to space out more (at first during peri they came more frequently) I started to notice a reduction in the internal shaking.

When I'd feel like they were going to drive me "nutso" I'd find a distraction. Playing online games like Freecell or Sudoku would help me because I'd have to be concentrating on the game. Also, playing with my dog, not outdoors, but indoors was a big distractor for me and would help me get my mind off the tremors.

Hope you get some relief.

I had the racing heart thing too and that was when my shaking was at it's worst. At that point my anxiety had gone through the roof, because I got no answers from any Dr. I even ended up in the ER with skipped heart beats. Everything seems to be fine and I have to keep reminding myself of that. I am still here. It seems that my body has adjusted to the decrease in estrogen or I am balanced again that the tremors and racing heart don't happen often. Actually, I haven't had the racing heart in a couple of years.

Hang in there. If anyone finds the solution, let us all know. smile.gif

HI Dianne,

Are you on any hormones? I jsut started to take BHRT comoounded from Bellvue. Now I am reading that they only postpones the symptoms. God if I am this bad on it, how ould I be off it? But I don't want to postpone the symptoms returning.

I have MVP (Mitral Value Prolapse) so it just makes the heart thing more scary....is it hormones or is it the MVP????You know?

Do you remember how long you went through all the tremor crap? I'm ready to scream and I'm ready to shoot my husband ( not really) he is just too irritating to live with going through all this.

I appreciate you chatting with me smile.gif

Hi Ladies,
After being away for a few days, I logged back on tonite because the tremors today are terrible. For 2 days they were almost gone and I thought it was because I had started taking CLA 3 times a day. I remember telling my husband on Sunday that my body felt funny and then I realized it was because I wasn't tremoring! I was so happy biggrin.gif , then this afternoon it started all over again sad.gif , this time with some intermittent vibration and buzzing.

I know how you feel Jenny. I've had them 24/7 for 6 months. I notice mine when I stop moving. It's very strange - if I sit or lie still long enough they go away, but once I move, like roll over in bed or adjust my position they start again. Then if I'm still for awhile they go away again. Do any of you notice them to be movement related? If I'm physically busy I don't notice them. But while working on the computer I feel them because I'm sitting still. I feel them in my pelvic region and sometimes across my chest, but primarily in my arms and legs. Sometimes I get them in my face and inside my mouth like my tongue and roof of my mouth are twitching or jumping. Those are the ones that scare me.

I had an FSH done and it was 108. Doc said that was normal but didn't give me the ranges. Does anyone have any info on what the numbers should be?

I have an appointment with a neurologist the first week of December. I wasn't going to go but reading Dearests posts she recommends getting everything checked out. I'm not too worried (maybe due to the 5mg of Lexapro I take) because these tremors came at the exact same time as panic attacks and high anxiety. I think if it were some terrible neurological thing you wouldn't experience the anxiety with it and it wouldn't come and go. That's what I tell myself anyway. And reading all these posts from the hundreds and hundreds of women who experience the same thing also helps ease my mind.

Hi my tremulous sisters ,

Man tremors coupled with my off balance feeling are the very worst symptoms or me. I long for one day where I dont feel unsteady and shaky. But I guess I have to just continue living one day at a time until if and when this all subsides.

JennyJJJ I will certainly let you know after I have seen the neurologist what he says about the beta blocker. It is also one that is supposed to lower blood pressure and mine all of a sudden fluctuates so hopefully it is doing something.

I have been taking Remifeminin and it has helped my night sweats quite a lot. I get them from time to time but a big improvement there.

The problem with my thinking is I drive myself crazy thinking I wander if its this that is making me worse or if the beta blocker makes me feel worse. You know how it is with us sometimes because there is such a lack of understanding and compassion about peri menopause that doctors do not take it into consideration. When I feel very down I remind myself of my teenage years what hormones could do. During pregnancy and also after I had a hysterectomy and then I tell myself why should this phase of my life be any different. Sometimes with the help of all you wonderful ladies I tell myself that this cannot go on forever and I feel not so without hope. I live for the good days and honestly they are not many. Last Thursday though stuck out in my memory asit was a magical day. I was off balance and tremoring but not as severely as some days and so I tell myself If I could have one good day like that last week there is hope for some better times. You know life is a funny thing. We learn to appreciate these things at this stage of our life. If I can give you all one bit of encouragement and upliftment it is to say that we are all still alive each day and if we can enjoy one thing per day then that is what we should focus on. Maybe someone says something nice. Maybe we see a beautiful garden. It could be a blue sky that makes us smile. And there is always PS . I have just started to LOOK FOR SOmethinggood at least one thing per day and then I say to myself . I have lived

God Bless all

HI Tiki girl and Flying Fairy,

Thanks for your responses. It is so good to know that you understand. Not that I would wish this on any one. I am sorry that you are having these tremors too. I would much rather you write and say...." Mine are over" but that day will come.

First before I forget, here is some info I found on FSH levels:

Your health care provider will look for a number of things when examining the results of your FSH test. She will first compare your FSH levels to normal baseline results in most women. A normal FSH level is usually under 10, whereas an abnormal level is anything above 25. Measurements between 10 and 25 are generally considered borderline.

Your physician will also examine estradiol levels that are tested along with your follicle stimulating hormone. Estradiol is one of the estrogens that your body produces, and is secreted by the ovaries. During ovulation, estradiol levels increase rapidly, and drop again after ovulation. Estradiol levels are also helpful in indicating ovarian reserve. Levels above 75 may indicate a poor ovarian reserve.

You know the more I look the more I am 100% convinced that these tremors are adrenline. You asked if I notice them when I am moving and the answer is NO....it is always when I am laying, sitting, sleeping, etc. Like now my rear and legs are trembling. If I get up and walk, I won't feel it.

I think the movement allows us to burn up the adrenline. This is probably why it is so bad in the AM and wakes me. I'm laying totally still for 5 hrs and then it builds up and WHAM. If that is the case, then it leads me to believe that it's the adrenal glands we need to focus on. After all, they are the ones that produce much of the hormornes we have or don't have and they also produce the adrenline.

When the weather was nice...as soon as the tremors would hit, I'd jump on my bike and ride. cool.gif Low and behold, the tremors stopped. It might have only been for a few hrs. but they stopped. That also confirms that it is adrenline.

I think more than anything I still am just baffled by all the "professionals" who don't have a clue what this is or what causes it and what will stop it. We can put a space shuttle into space and bring it back home, we can operate a bomb with the ease of a joystick attached to a video game, we can develop a pill so 80 yr old men can have sex but we can't figure out WHY a woman in Perimenopause trembles and how to stop it. You can see the priority here.

I have bought and read about 20 hormone books (everyone you ever see mentioned on PS + more) NOT ONE even slightly mentioned tremors. mad.gif

I think all of us here on PS who suffer from this should do our own reaseach. Maybe if we all journal what is going on and what we are eating, what we were doing, etc. when it started and then as soon as it starts....we jump on a treadmill, walk, ride a bike, etc. anything to burn off the adrenline...and see if it stops.

We could once a week meet here and discuss what we did, supplements we tried, etc. Anyone game to get a group togethter? If nothing else, maybe it will help us keep our minds more positive about it. blink.gif

You know I just don't know what else to suggest. I've tried everything and spent enough to buy a car and I am no better than I was 7.5 months ago. It is hard for me to sit here and read posts of people saying they have had the trembling for 8 yrs. I just can't deal with this that long. This is totally effecting my life and I am sure it is effecting others just the same. I have tried everything conventional and alternative that is out there. I even had herbs burned on my back to try to get them to stop. Who knows how it was supposed to work but it didn't. I am so desperate that I would let them run donkey poop on me if I thought it would make these horrible tremors stop.

When I finally reach menopause, I will gladly welcome hot flashes! Compaired to this, they have to be better. At least you can jump in the shower or the bath or a pool and stop it. This is like the vibration monster....it can't be stopped. mad.gif

Well, let me know what you think. I'm game for trying to start an anti-vibration study group. We can post a sign up and see how many people will want to join us smile.gif

Hope all of you have a calm and no shaking allowed day.

Jenny

Hey Tikigirl,

I had the internal shaking with perimenopause, and it went away in time.

I'm telling you this because I also have MS, and I do have an "intention tremor" with MS, but it's nothing like the internal shaking stuff I got with hormonal symptoms. The intention tremor intensifies when you try to do something, the closer you get to the object. For instance, if I were to reach for a cup, the closer to the cup my hand would get, the more it will tremor. It only happens when I initiate an "intention" to do something, thus the name.

The peri shaking tremors were more like a trembling for me, or a vibration, that didn't come and go, but were just there. Sometimes with the hormonal stuff I'd feel like my hands were shaking, but if I looked at them they weren't. I totally agree it's a weird sensation.

Hope you get some answers.

Thank you ladies for your responses.

Dawn, I was concerned about MS but I don't have any of the true symptoms. I cannot imagine having these tremors and MS. You must have felt terrible. My father has 'familial tremors' also called "essential tremors" and he shakes like a leaf when he's trying to do something with his hands. Somedays he cannot even hold his cup of coffee. I talked to him about the feeling and it's nothing like I feel.

Jenny JJJ, thank you for the comments on FSH. You may have confirmed for me that this is indeed menopause. If between 10-25 is borderline and mine is 108 no wonder I'm shaking. I have no periods to go by as I had my uterus and cervix removed 12 years ago. I've been experiencing menopausal symptoms for about 8 years now but these tremors are new and very irritating. My body is so use to them that when they stop my body feels hollow and light and then I realize it's because I'm not tremoring, twitching or vibrating. You might have something on the adrenaline thought tho. However, on the days I do weight training I tend to tremor worse that evening than on the days I don't. But walking and nordic-tracking are fine and don't increase the tremors. I love your idea of an anti-vibration study group. If you put it together and give us the guidelines I'll participate as will probably 1000 other women out there.

Thanks for being here ladies!

I have been reading down through this thread with much interest. What I have called external shaking may be these tremors. A few years ago, I had an internal motor that seemed to run all the time. To me, it felt like a cat purring. It was in my mid-section. It seemed to run 24/7 for days on end. I'd go to sleep feeling it and as soon as I became conscious in the morning it would start again. That was when my anxiety was at an all time high. That finally went away a couple of years ago. This past summer, I acquired the shakes. I shake outwardly. My hands will shake sometimes when I try to drink something or write. My legs shake on the gas and brake pedal in my truck. It isn't anxiety or panic. Been there, done that. My head can be entirely clear (if that makes any sense to anybody). Is this what all of you are calling tremors? If it is, I have them big time. They can leave me any time now. I'm so tired of people asking me "are you allright?" when they see me like this. Yes, I'm fine, thank you, just a nervous wreck, that's all!!!! I am always sitting around shaking my foot or my leg, like that is some kind of a release for this. What causes this? A lack of what? Too much of what? I do have good days....like today....like right now. I'm sitting here as calm as can be, not shaking my foot. I guess I can thank the good Lord, or my lucky stars or Mother Nature or whoever is responsible for this that I didn't have this on top of everything else!!!

Thanks for listening to me ramble wacko.gif

Hey Tots,

As TG mentioned, there is a condition called "benign essential tremors" and there are meds that can help control it. Google the term and you can read about it.

With the menopause internal shaking I felt it all the time, mine felt like a hum, or like a motor was running inside me. I think with essential tremor, as with intention tremor, you don't have symptoms until you initiate action.

With Parkinson's the tremor is a "resting tremor," i.e. you have the tremor while you're not doing something, but if you initiate an action, the tremor calms.

There's another condition called Restless Leg Syndrome...I'm not really sure what the symptoms are except that folks with it feel the need to move their legs all the time.

Hope you get some answers.

Hello everyone. Jenny I only just read your posting from the other day reguarding tremors. I've had mine for 10mths now and they come and go, the severity also varies. The worst time seems to be when I ovulate and the week before my periods are due. I was due for my periods 3days ago and so the tremors are there all the time but aren't so severe. When they first started they were so strong inside the front of my thighs, that I was amazed that they could'nt be felt on the outside! Every time I used to sit down they were going none stop. I take magnesium and calcium and evening primrose I don't know if it works but something is making them slow down, so I'm not stopping! I spoke to a natural therapist and she recommended reflexology, working on the feet. I was surprised to hear that she knew of the tremors, she's also a nurse. I will take her up on the reflexlogy if my tremors become strong as before. She said to have 6 sessions, 1 per fortnight, because of the cost. Weekly would be ideal, but not always possible. Anyway I hope this helps. Cheryl

Hi ladies,

I enjoyed reading each and everyone's posts with their ideas and things that they have tried. This is why I am thinking we should put together an antivibration study group. Does anyone have any ideas on how we could do it? I know Tiki girl you mentioned you were interested, do you have any ideas?

I was thinking we could each list what we do now and journal for a week. Then post what you noticed....does it start after you are upset, hungry, laying down etc. Then we can all come up with something new to try (nothing that costs a lot of money) Like we coudl say everytime they start, you have to get up and march in place or walk, etc. for 15 min to see if you can get them to stop. If at the end of the week 75% of us say they stopped with exercise, then we know they are adrenline related and we go from there. What do you think?

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to do it? I just think since there is no one out there helping us we might as well figure this out on our own and try and see if we can take care of it.

Cheryl mentioned reflexology. Maybe we could get books from the library on reflecxology and see if we can try it ourselves. I would be willing to get a treatment done and tell everyone what areas the person focused on if I could only find one.

I know we are never going to find a larger group of women who know what this is about (tremors) so we might as well take advantage of it and try to figure it out together. Even if we don't figure out anything, at least when the tremors come on, the study might make it more tolerable because we will be focusing on "why" and "what was going on" rather than the usual "poor me, when is it going to stop"

I'm open for suggestions. This will be probably the only COST FREE experiment we do. We've all been paying to be experimented on by Dr's ND's etc. at least this one we will be in charge and it will be free.

OK ladies....what do you think????
Jenny

Jenny, you're idea of a journal is great. I've never really kept track of when the tremor bother me.

You asked if I was on hormones. No I don't take anything. I just take calcium and a multi vitamin. I also have MVP, which does add to all the fun, doesn't it?

HI Dicannon~

Yep MVP sure adds more fun. Recently my heart rate has been high (102-112) I am not on a beta blocker but the other day between my tremors being horrible and my heart rate being at 112 while I was just sitting...I took 1/2 (12.5 mg atenolol) I cried when I took it because I felt like I had been trying so hard for the last 7.5 months trying to get all this under control and here I was back to square 1. UGH!

I hope we get enough ladies to want to join in our anti~vibration study group...I know the answers are out there....I figure if we all put our heads together we can figure this horrible thing out.

Thanks for the message~
Jenny

Hi Jenny JJJ,
Let me give some thought about how to set something like this up. I'm thinking we should try to set it up like a weekly survey. Come up with specific questions such as diet, exercise, supplements, sleep, stress, alcohol intake, etc. Then we can post our info and compare notes and tally up stuff and see if anything is working for one of us that the others might want to try. Also where the ladies feel their tremors, ie; leg, arms, face, etc. and time of day felt. Also was there anything else besides tremors like shaking, buzzing, low voltage electrical sensation that accompanied or took the place of the tremors.

Right now we're sitting here waiting to see if Wilma is heading our way, sad.gif so it looks like the weekend will be a bust either way as at the very least we'll get rain and wind. So that will give me time to tinker with a survery.

Please give me your ideas and suggestions to add to the list.

HI Tikigirl~

I think you covered all the ideas I had. We will just have to post a sign up and then like you said we can first get people to joural for a week and list everything you said. Then in a week they post answers, we can take turns tallying up the answers and coming up with the ideas for the next week. Also, I think we should keep track of what days we are in our cycles for those of us who are still cycling.

I'm excited to get this going....anyone else with ideas of how to do this, please post them and we can get started on it. At least this gives us something to look forward to!

Are you in Florida? Oh be safe Tikigirl! We are renting a vaction house there in 2 weeks in Cape Coral! It's on a canal so I am nervous because there was something in the contract about "acts of God" and we will lose our $$ if it hits there and we can't stay sad.gif

I'll be taking my laptop with me so I can still do the study group smile.gif

I'll chat soon,
Jenny

Just thought I'd add my input about the tremors and shaking.

I've had restless leg syndrome for many years. Never been officially diagnosed but I've read enough about it to know that's what it is. It drives me crazy some nights. Dawn's description was right on the money. That's exactly what it feels like. I can't keep my legs still,no matter how I have them within a few seconds I have to move them again. Sometimes all I can do is get up and walk around the house and it stops for a bit. I have noticed that if I'm on my feet all day or doing things around the house, it's worse that night. Advil helps a little but doesn't take it away completely.

I don't believe it's related to what all of you are feeling though. This has been going on since I was in my late 20's so it isn't peri related. I am now getting a bit of the shakes in my hands. I notice it when I'm holding papers especially but that is about the extent of it.

I certainly feel for all of you. This certainly doesn't sound like any fun!

Wishing you luck with your impromptu study. Hope you come up with some ideas!

Vicki

Jenny would be extremely interested in doing a study on these weird sensations. I also have " head Zapping" when trying to go to sleep at times, and during the day. Dizzyness, palpatations, anxiety and a few other symptoms. I would love to find out all I can as there is nothing here at the moment. I find that my tremors are more hormonal, I'm not sure if they are worse after exercise or not as they come and go many times during the day. I think having it so long I've tried not to focus on it all the time. I did before and my anxiety became high as I thought something was wrong with me. So anyway I'll be in it as it will help my daughters later if they need it. I sort of keep a diary at the moment as my mum has forgotten things she went through and I didn't want this for my kids. They are 30 and 27, so eventually they will need it. Hopefully they breeze through. Cheryl

Hi - this a contribution to the 'anti-vibration' study group.....

I too have been afflicted by the dreaded 'Tremulens menopausus'

I have been peri for 6 months - I had internal tremors (thought it was my 'nerves') - started HRT - didnt get on with it (in fact ripped patch off last Saturday 'cos 3 months of headache with no let up in any other symtpoms was just not for me) - and lo and behold here I am a week later with internal tremors again. I forgot about them 'cos they had gone away. I too get zapping and anxiety (but I had that when on HRT too).

I have also read something about Benign Fasicultation Syndrome - not looked it up cos it has 'benign' in the title!!!

I am also keeping a diary like Choco - it actually helps me to look back at what I wrote and how I felt.

When I get the 'shakes' - I think of Mrs Bennet in Pride and Prejudice when Austen describes her as 'quite in the fidgets' - it is just how I feel!

HI Ladies~

Well another shaking morning for me. sad.gif Hope yours is better!

OK well it seems like we have some interested people so I am going to post a "new post" to get people to sign up for it. If you want to be in the "club" look for the new post and sign up.

I still say, together with all our heads together, we can figure something out!

Jenny3j.... Huney, I dont really see how this well find the answers as to why...especially when we cant test our blood, going into it very "physically"..no cells to look at and all.

I read what you had posted in the "study" forum, and everything you have posted about your habits and such is so reversed of mine..like

Im 42,

Been in "medically endorsed" peri for 6 years now

Have been having tremors interal off and on for over 10 years now.

My diet is good...I do eat meat..all kinds I am not big on treats..except ice cream is my "comfort" food

Right now Im probably 23 lbs overweight, yet from one of the womens workout clubs...my body fat is EXCELLANT?????

I have 6 kids

I smoke, drink coffee, take vitamins, and sometimes exercise

Whether or not Im stressed about something, i get em.

I hope you dont think Im trying to throw a monkey wrench into this so to speak, other than the fact I dont see how it will give us any true answers Hun. Other than that we're going thru peri/meno and this is one of the symptoms some women experience, because of the fluctuations, increasing and decreasing hormones.

Know what I mean? By all means go ahead with the study thing..but no concrete answers can become of it other than hormones, without being able to disect a cadaver, and being able to poke and probe live women with scopes and whatever else...

I'm gonna jump in here and post too. I think the study will be a good thing. Some of you ladies might be able to find a pattern to this anyway. But I highly doubt you'll find a cause, other than wacky hormones. It seems most of the medical profession is at a loss as to why this happens to some of us. Not just these symptoms but any of them that happens during peri. These particular symptoms appeared for me mysteriously a few years ago. I had them on and off for a few years. The internal motor, the hot spots and ripple feelings under my skin, waking up a bazillion times a night with my heart racing, my heart doing the big "bang" thing waking me up and scaring the s*it right outta me, chest hurting where I just knew I was having a heart attack....geesh, I'm still here, my heart fluttering and flip floppin' all over the place and probably a dozen more things I can't think of right now. It's no d*mn wonder some of us think we're losing our minds when this crap happens to us. A couple years ago, most of these symptoms disappeared for me as mysteriously as they came. I still have periods and I do realize they might come back. I sure hope not. If they do maybe the second time around I won't be so scared. And my anxiety was through the roof then...another "wonder why"? I was also at the height of my pisstivity then mad.gif , I could not get a handle on what was happening to me. And I didn't have Power Surge unsure.gif

Like I said, most of this stuff is gone. I still have an occasional flop of the heart. I can cough and it goes away. I have a general nervousness about me. Used to be the calmest person on this planet. I shake sometimes now outwardly, my hands and arms mostly but sometimes feel it all over. Just something else to live with for the time being, I'm sure that will go away too.

I'm 48, my first peri symptom hit me at age 32. I smoke....I'd like to quit but not right now, I drink beer and coffee and diet pop. I take a multi vitamin because I know I don't eat right. I do eat junk food from time to time. I exercise when I can which is usually everyday because I watch my 3 grandkids. I had a complete physical with bloodwork done in August. I was told I am in perfect health blink.gif go figure. Liver was fine, total cholesterol was 165, triglycerides normal. Doc told me to keep doing whatever I'm doing....and she knows I smoke. I'm sure she didn't mean that!!

OK, sorry this is long. I got to ramblin'. I just love being able to talk about this stuff with all you girls!!!

Someday, somebody might be able to figure this all out and Jenny, it just might be you!! GO FOR IT!!!

Take care....everyone

Hello all,
I have a question for all of you...is the internal vibration/shake/buzz something that has only happened to you since peri-meno began...or did you experience it prior to peri as well?

Thanks,
Pam
