Hi my Peri sisters!
I hope all of you had a pretty decent day. I am on day 9 of my cycle and have been feeling good for the past 2 days...Yay! This, after feeling miserable the 3-4 days prior to my period, all through my period and 2 days after. Headaches, dizziness, bloating, yuckiness! Ugh! So I am thankful for feeling good. Tonight, though, I notice this symptom that I've had before. And like many of us, wonder if it's peri or something else. My legs feel stiff and kinda tight from below my knees. Mostly in the calf and feet. Have any of you had any issues like this? Looking forward to hearing from you. |

Dear 'Jaemama' Sorry I cannot recall ever having experienced that particular symptom. The only thing that comes to mind is water retention.Try to keep your feet raised whilst sitting. If there appears to be any noticeable swelling in these areas consult your Doctor If not put it down to muscle tension You do not mention your age or any other symptoms that would suggest Peri so you need a full Gyno. check up to see where you stand-not just leg wise!- Warm Wishes Elizabeth |

Hi Jae:
I think I have that leg thing also. I will notice on and off occationally, it feels like from below my knee's and into my feet are stiff and like I need to stretch them out. If I stretch them be pulling my toes almost towards my calves it helps. It feels like the ankles need the stretch but at the same time both calfs feel oddly tight under the muslces, not the muscles directly. Sometimes when I feel it, I think oh no Im not going to be able to move my legs. I don't know what it is, I wish I could help with a name for it. Is this how yours feels like I've described it? Hope it feels better soon. Patty Hi my Peri sisters! I hope all of you had a pretty decent day. I am on day 9 of my cycle and have been feeling good for the past 2 days...Yay! Yes, I have this. My calves are very tight. I work out alot, but was not doing much in the way of stretching until I started with my chiropractor. Now we've discovered that it is in fact these tight leg muscles that are causing some buzzing kind of feelings in my feet. When I am good and stretching everyday, my feet feel so much better. He agreed that hormone imbalance can cause tightening in the muscles. Anyway, maybe try some stretching. The best I have found is the "downward dog" yoga move to stretch the calves -- really trying to flatten your heels to the floor. Hope you feel better!

I love the downward dog move. I find it esp helpful when I've had little sleep the night before. It gives me a boost of energy. Thanks to all of you for responding. In Elizabeth's post she mentions water retention, which is something I never thought of. I will monitor and check in with my doctor. I love PS and all you wonderful ladies! |

I have the tight calf muscles and as a bonus tight arm muscles. I stretch a lot, but have to go to PT because there are some pesky muscles that are very hard to stretch. It does cause buzzing in the extremities at night, because I tighten up just laying there.
