fingernail discoloration....., this always scares me! Options

As you can see by the number of my posts lately, i'm in another "season" of symptoms.....it's like that, it'll slack off for a while, and then POW...here comes a new slew of symptoms ....


So, about a month or so ago, maybe slightly longer.......i noticed, a sort of rust/orange "stripe" or "band" across my fingernails.....(i think i posted that here)...... it's NOT on every fingernail.....it's only on two fingernails on my RIGHT hand, and one ONE (my thumb) fingernail on the LEFT hand..... but NOW, i'm noticing there is a small orange/rust colored spot on the nailbed, of the index finger of my left hand too! (which i'm worried will grow into another "stripe" or "band" across the nail).
These "bands" run horizontally across..... they aren't thin, but they aren't exceptionally wide either, just "medium" width i suppose. As far as nail polish goes, i used to wear pink nail polish all the time, but about a year ago or so..i stopped that, and have only been wearing a clear coat (Sally Hansens Hard As Nails) ..... except for special occassions when i polish them pink ..... but then, i remove the pink polish, and reapply the clear polish only. At the beginning of this month, there was a special occassion I attended for 2 days, during which i reapplied the pink polish, but those orange/rust colored bands were there BEFORE that, and when i came home from this event, i took off the pink polish anyway.

Now,..... I don't know what could be causing this problem. Like i said, BEFORE i put on the pink polish to attend this event at the beginning of this month, those stripes were there.......so, it wasn't that polish. I do use orange colored dish washing liquid for the dishes, I do dye my hair a lighter blonde (my hair is normally blonde, but i like it a shade lighter), and around hte end of last month (may) into the beginning of June, i was also using Grapefruit Oil on a rash i seemed to have develped out of nowhere then too ..... the Grapefruit Oil is very good for those things, it is loaded with Vitamin C.....and I read on another health forum, that large doses of Vit. C in creams and such, can stain your nails........so, maybe THAT'S what this is ............ but again....... wouldn't nail discoloration be over the whole nail? I mean, this is weird, it's a "stripe" or "band" horizonally across the fingernail....... oh boy.........here goes the panic, because i begin to think it's some deadly disease! xanax time everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


DOES ANYONE ELSE EVER GET ANYTHING LIKE THIS?

Haven,t got this myself (YET!)
I,m sure I,ve read some posts (somewhere) on here about the same thing,think you may have to look back along way though, didn,t read thru them so can,t say what causes it.

It may have been under skin itch/dryness??

Obviously few had this so wouldn,t worry too much although if you are anything like me you will!!!!!!!!!!
