well........here we go again! My period started yesterday,....I am basically "on time" this month (yippie!), and it's the usual LOTS OF BLOOD routine i've become accustomed to .... however, about a half an hour ago, upon going out to my car and just sitting down in the car, i began to get his awful, DEEP, pain/ache on the left side of the lower abdomen .... it's SORT OF like cramps, but not.....it feels spasming in a "way" and yet not...it's weird. It tends to come and go, as in "waves" of this.....now, it's just sort of "there"...not to bad, but almost like a "soreness" in there......this is horrible! I have no idea what this is ......... also...i even got this "burning" or stinging feeling in there, (lower left abdomen) and that deep ache/pain seems to go down into the left side of my vagina,,,and even the top of my left thigh! DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS? what is this?..... i expect this may be part of this peri stuff,,,but WOW! I FORGOT TO ADD THIS AS WELL..........it seems as if it is also going around to the lower back area .... does this sound like "normal" cramping?????? The thing of it is.......all my life, i never really had bad cramps.....only since peri started, have i experienced things LIKE this.......so, it's hard for me to judge if this sounds typical of normal BAD cramps, or what ....... also.....did i mention this burning sensation in there? i prob. did....lol...i forgot! -------------------- __________________

Oh gosh it was a while back now but yes I remember having pains like that during my period. I used to get burning and stinging INSIDE my vagina as well- and terrible sort of dragging pains too. Everything just gets congested. I am not sure if it's necessarily just in peri. I remember always having bad period pains, cramps and stinging. Don't worry. It sounds pretty normal-(if uncomfortable) janet c |

I should also mention, that for about 10 days prior to my period starting, i was so darn nauseas! oh boy, it was lousy! now, since peri started (about two and a half yrs. ago), i have had nausea on and off at times, but THIS time, holy cow...and right before my period. So, either this period, is a really bad one....or what? I am still a little nauseas, but, this horrible pain in my lower left abdomen, makes me feel like bursting into tears........it's very frustrating........and it also gives me this feeling of wanting to "push" something out .... i know that may sound weird, but that's the feeling ... i can only assume, that's the spasming .............. i need some input on this ..... thank you ladies.... ! -------------------- __________________

I got this for years, when ovulating. Burning deep stabbing on my ovary.
It switched from side to side and the pain doubled me over. An ultrasound showed it required a little Advil, Cramps always started in my lower back.... I hope you feel better! But you should get checked out if it's bad...... hugs, MB -------------------- "Wishes for you: A sunbeam to warm you, A moonbeam to charm you,

If you have no history of diverticulitis, it is most likely menstruation related, Motrin helps in severe cases. Hang in there, there is gozzillions of bizzare symptoms during perimenopause, outrule major issues, and don't worry. Best, I. -------------------- I feel like there is a party going inside me ...but I am not invited

Yes I am sure it would sometimes be one sided. The nausea was very bad- and did get worse in peri but again this is not always a peri thing. I had a friend that always threw up every month just before her period. It sounds as though you are getting an intense version of normal menstruation. Nothing you have said is setting off any alarm bells so stop worrying! Marybeth is right-you should get it checked out if its bad, but honestly it doesn't sound that unusual to me janet c |

Sweets, are you getting terrible bloating with it? Are you getting radiating pain down the front or back of your legs or up around your kidneys? I have endometriosis which adds another lovely layer to the peri miseries around period time(when my body decides to have it!)........To err on the side of caution, can you arrange to have an abdominal and kidney ultrasound and an internal examination by your gynea? Just to be safe.......
Take care, babe....... -------------------- What the hell is going on?

UGH! this is still going on! this pain/ache started this afternoon, and it's still there ... now, i realize that could be peri, or my period ........ but this is bad! I am not bent over in outright PAIN ....but it does ache and hurt in there .....still! It almost doesn't feel like cramps now........bec. it's always just there .... yes, it can come and go as far as moments when it'll REALLY hit, like a cramp...... but,...for the most part, it's just THERE....just IN THERE.....the lower left abdomen .... and on the lower spine in the back too .... it also kind of aches up around my ribs ..... this is awful .... i am going to lay down now again, curled up in a ball, with the hair dryer facing my back, which ususally helps with this type of thing....... yes, i do have SOME pain radiating down my thigh on that side .... not to much though, but sometimes...... I keep imagining the worst........i keep thinking i have some sort of huge cyst on my ovary and it's about to burst or some awful thing like that .......... oh boy, the anxiety is really really bad! OH, I FORGOT .......(as usual) ...... yeah, it feels like i really want to push somehnting out...which i think i mentioned earlier ...... i don't know what that would mean really ..... and it seems to almost go into these spasms in there, which is why i was thinking my IBS had started up again ........ when it spasms in there, i can feel this "wave" of super anxiety come up from there, through my body, up to my mouth.....then i feel this nauseas feeling in my mouth ..... like i want to scream! I am also VERY bloated, yes........... -------------------- __________________

You poor thing! You sound super-duper hormonal which is making your mind spin out of control. Please try to calm down a bit and take some pain killers. I am sure it will die down in a day or so. I promise you I have had periods like that in the past. When your period has finished, wait and see if the pain disappears. If it doesn't then best go to the doctor. Pain from ovarian cysts would come at other times than just during your period and I would think there would be other symptoms too such a bloating. Hope you feel better and calmer soon janet c |

I had something somewhat similar earlier this year, during one of my "long" cycles. I'd had a 44 day cycle, then a 21, then a 68 (sigh). About midway through the 68 day cycle, I began having a nagging, sore, full feeling in my right side. It last 7 or 8 days. It wasn't what I would call painful, just a very dull ache and bloating. It didn't come and go, it was just there continuously. It began concerning me toward the end, then it was just gone one day. Haven't had anything like it since.

I have been on BHRT for about 4 months. I was late getting my order in so missed a good week and a half of taking my P. I tell you what I guess my ovaries kicked in and I had the left hand side pain too. I wanted to lay on the floor and die, vomit and cry! I told my husband I either had appendicitis or my ovary was about to blow! Mine radiates to my lower back as well. The odd thing was having a gurgling/bubbling feeling in my vagina, I had to go see if I was starting a period. Mind you I had a hysterectomy in September (removal of uterus and cervix) and have not had a period in ten months! After this I recall pre hyster that this was happening a lot when I ovulated and was on the pill. So maybe in my case it was the over load of added hormones that made my ovary work harder or something. You can bet I will not put off ordering my scritps ever again because this was horrible ! I had actually started to forget what pms hell was like until this happened!
