UGH! that's all i can say.........does anyone out there, have some sort of stomach/intestinal "bug"??? I'm just wondering, because for the last 5 days or so.....I've had this awful stomach/intestinal thing, it's so bad! There's no fever, and no actual throwing up, but a lot of nausea, and this horrible bloating, and feeling in my stomach and intestines. I am due for my period any day now....but, this started about 5 days ago. I don't know if it's got anything to do with peri, or my period......but i DO know this....that, whatever it is.....I know peri makes it worse...that's something i've come to learn along the way! I've had other "normal" colds, or "bugs" since peri kicked in, and I can tell you, PERI MAKES IT MUCH WORSE, in fact, i can rem. my husb. and sons getting some sort of "bug" a while back, and then, it hit me......well, they all felt bad for a few days, NOT ME....it stuck with me for over a week! Plus, i noticed, that MY symptoms, were much much worse, than theirs....so, i know peri, can over amplify the symptoms........but, having said that.....I should add here, that this time as well, my two younger sons dealt with this too......but again, only for two days.....but it was bad. The bloating is so bad, and your stomach actually hurts, as if you have a stomach ache .... and your intestines! oh boy.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! today, it seems a little better, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch! thanks ladies! -------------------- __________________

Hi mydarling, I just read that stomach bug and intestinal flu's are up 45% in the summer months. I had a terrible stomach flu just 3 weeks ago where I vomited for 7 hours straight. The second stomach flu this year! I don't know why but maybe peri just wears our immune systems down. I know this much from now on I am going to take probiotics because our immune systems are located in our guts! I hope your feeling better very soon. Debra today, it seems a little better, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch! thanks ladies! |

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I just got over the stomach flu and agree with all you said. It was much worse because of this hormonal thing. I threw up a couple of times but the nausea and just feeling plain awful was the worst. I know before I would get the stomach flu and it would be gone in a couple of days but not this one. It hung on for about 6 days. My husband and my son had the same thing. They got that bloated feeling and intestinal pain that you are talking about. It took my husband about 6 days for it to go away also. Of course my son was better in 3 days though. All I know is that it is not fun but it will eventually go away so hang in there. I feel for you!!

Well Mydarling, mine started one week ago today. Nausea last Sat and Sun and then I woke up Monday morning and felt like something popped in my intestines. To the right of my belly button about 2 inches and up about an inch. I have felt like utter he** all week. Nausea, sick to stomach, cramping intermittently, intestinal spasms, dizziness, shaky. Did I hit the nail on the head? And I woke up this morning, started my period and passing the biggest clot I ever have. I felt so bad yesterday that I broke down and went to the Dr. he pushed around on my stomach and i really didnt have any extra tender spots so he ordered a CAT scan if I want to go get things checked out but he really didnt think it 's anything. I told him I was getting ready to start. So this period is 25 days from the last one. They are getting closer together and this one is the worst one yet! Hang in there, hope you feel better soon. Hope we both feel better soon!
HUGS Kim |

I dont' much bloating, but the cramping, gas and then even back pain around the left shoulder blade, not fun at all. Nausea sometimes joins in too. It can be miserable and can happen so quick and then end and then come back. I really feel your pain. I have tired all sorts of things to stop it, but it really just takes time, maalox, prilosec, xanax, whatever.
I hope today is better. |

hi ladies,,,thank you for all the responses! yeah, ok, yesterday was better, no nausea!...lol...but today, IT'S BACK! i am due for my period this week, but WHO KNOWS anymore! The nausea, at least today, is not overwhelming, and i haven't thrown up yet.....it's just lurking around in there, i can sort of feel it. Do any of you have fever? See, i don't have a fever.....but, the intestinal cramping, and "churning" is bad .... the ANXIETY IS THROUGH THE ROOF, and the bloating and gas is definatley THERE! Oh man .... this stinks! I just hope I'm not late again....that's when things really rev up for the worst! Also,,,someone mentioned the back pain...i have that too, in the same exact place! the left shoulder blade! what the heck? thank you all for replying so quickly....and i hope we all feel better soon...... -------------------- __________________

I havent thrown up and the nausea is not as bad today/ I never have had a fever .... intestines are still cramping and have had a loose bowel. Dont know if this is because of starting yesterday or if it is something else?? My anxiety has been through the roof also......I've diagnosed myself with everything under the moon. Even though the doctor said he didnt think it was anything which means he either thought it was a woman thing or I was making it up, which I am not. the spasms are the worst though

I was somewhat comforted to find this thread. I too, have had nausea, aching intestines along with loose stool. It seems like only four days ago I was feeling pretty good except for a lower back ache. Yesterday was the worst, today seems a bit better. I went to the chiro. a couple of days ago and the aching back has improved-not completely gone, but now I have aching intestines. It is within 10 days of my cycle so I am not sure if I could attribute it to that situation. I have been trying to wean myself off the progesterone cream and I wonder if that could in part be causing some of my problems. I know that I am estrogen dominant --- my progesterone is quite low at the time of month that it should be increasing. Hope we all feel better soon Is it possible for these symptoms to be anxiety related. I know that estrogen dominance causes anxiety. thanks ladies! |
