Ok ladies I was surfing the net again and found a really good site that gives us a time line through peri and menopause and it has a excellent perimenopause daily diary so that we can go and record every one of our symptoms and find the pattern that will help ease our fretted and frayed minds so that we can stop thinking that we are dying !! The diary is awesome biggrin.gif

I'm posting the Time Line question and link here

There is alot of info on the left hand side of the web page under Popular Topics

Awesome website! Thanks so much for posting. After 4 years here I figured there was nothing new that would help me. I was wrong. This helped a lot!

great information.....but once again I fall out of the average. It would say I am in phase D as I have skipped a period for 2 mo. however my breasts are sooooo sore and enlarged the past 3 mo....I mean all the time. whereas back in phase "c" when my periods started to get irregular (3 years now) for the first time in along time my breasts were not sore at all...hardly even before a period, now I can't stand the pain. I teould seem I have had a sudden surge of estrogen or a major drop in P. Anyway....very good info. HUGS Mikki

Good site. Thanks for the indo. Sadly, I appear to be only in Phase B, but slowly approaching C (one oddball period recently). Sigh...will the end EVER be in sight?

Am I the only one who has noticed that meno sites of non-US origin seem to be more on the ball and more helpful than US sites?

Webalina,

I have always found many more helpful sights out of the US for Meno and a few Other Medical Issues.
I always found that *some* of the UK, Canada, Australia sites - for different issues are super helpful.
The support sites there (although I have not been to one out of the US in a while....)
were great, and I especially found the UK for meno. The UK Ladies are Absolutely Lovely
and compassionate from my experience. Fortunately, women from outside of the US find Power Surge
and enrich it along with those of us who are American.

Power Surge is a rare and Superb Exception.

I sort of looked at the phases, and I am completely off the chart, it is been more than 10 years and I am still cycling....give or take. Sorry, did not meant to be grumpy about it.

Guys, am I the only one who is has read through?
This doctor recommends 300 mg prometrium days 14-27 before bed, and she really thinks we have very high estrogen level throout perimenopausal years, where is this coming from?
Last time I checked, mine is never higher than 35 on day 3, pretty consistent for the past few years.

Really, I don't see how is the doctor different from Dr.Lee et al. rolleyes.gif

Did not mean to be a party p****r.

Thanks, T, for posting these links. I think it's important to share things like this as we find them.

I like this doctor's timeline idea (though it will vary for each of us), but what about AFTER periods cease? One year of no periods, and we're done? I don't THINK so! She kind of drops the ball, and as I read several of her articles, I realized she's either not aware of or not researching many of the symptoms we suffer from. If only hot flashes and changes in periods were all we had to deal with!

We need female doctors doing this type of work, but it would be great to find a female doctor who has actually experienced the anxiety, depression, palps, tremors, dizziness, headaches, etc. that most of us are dealing with.

WOW thanks for the link. Great info for sure. I love the time line....

THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET, what our poor mothers must of went thru....

OMG I had to add one more thing... Someone final explained what I have been experiencing for sometime now, shorter period cycles... In other words, it feels like I am constantly having my period. Reading everything I believe I am entering Phase B. Cause I am real heavy, and shorter cycles, sometimes like 22 days, this is coming from a woman whose regular cycle was like 40 - 45 days (due to endometriosis); when I told me physician she was like ah that's just normal. Hmmmm.. maybe I should give her the link, and a few choice words..LOL

Thanks again soooo much for sharing this wonder link, I have already read so much info, and yes it does give you some relief to know, NO I AM NOT CRAZY.... Thanks again, I truly love Powersurge, what would I do w/out it, thanks dearest!!!!

This really is helpful and makes ya feel like you are not going nuts.

Becca - have often wondered how my Mom got through without a word about what it
was, with 7 kids. I wasn't always easy for her. Of course as we grow up we
all understand more about what it is to be a Mom, or at least the Meno part.

P.S. I seem to be phase D, headed towards almost Phase E

I have to agree with Solatido, its been over 2 years without a period for me and still have symptoms. After a couple weeks of no hot flashes, no shaking, no night sweats, etc I thought I was finally done with this stuff. BUT NO it came back full blast in the last week.

There is all kinds of info (good or bad) on perimenopause but I find little on post menopause. Doesn't anyone think some of us don't still deal with hormone changes? Two years post and I'm still waiting for it to all stop.

The only good thing about being "post" is not having periods. Heart palpitations, tremors and anxiety have been MUCH worse this past six months. (I am assuming I have entered this phase (age 51), but I've only gone nine months without a cycle.) Glad to know I'm not alone, Surreallife, but so sorry for you!

Hello everyone,
Well I was Phase E about 8 years ago...... so must be in what I'm calling Phase F and it's lasting toooooooooooooooooooo long for my liking! There's nothing about how long it takes for your body to adapt after that final period. I'm going to shout it from the roof tops when it all stops! Hugs Antique

antique,
Do you still have drastic cycle changes? I've had a couple good cycles (maybe 5 or 6 days in a row) in the past 6 months the rest of the time is full blast to almost tolerable. I just don't understand why it goes back to being so drastically bad instead of just changing slightly. So frustrating!

I'm post, but still think that was interesting to read. I went through the surgical menopause and all I did was talk about it and the symptoms-to my friends. Now some of them are going thru very rough times and I can help them with alot of things I have learned. Sort of help-sometimes nothing seemed to help.
Yep that was good info. Thanks

Thanks for sharing the link t,it's a very interesting site.I was suprised with what i read about very heavy menstrual flow(menorrhagia)....

"Officially, flow of more than 80 ml (or 16 soaked sanitary products) per menstrual period is considered menorrhagia. Most women bleeding this heavily will have a low blood count (anemia) or evidence of iron deficiency. In practice only about a third of women have anemia, so the definition of heavy flow can be adjusted to be more like nine to 12 soaked regular-sized sanitary products in a period"

I knew i had heavy periods, but i didn't realize it actually had a name(menorrhagia)....the underlined sentence struck me because i have periods where i use up to 24(or more) of the super, long or overnight pads.....sometimes i use up to 9 in one day,i assumed it was the norm for most women.....
