Totally normal I'd say. You are entering the eye of the hot flash storm period of menopause. Hormonal fluctuations are disrupting your thermo-regulatory systems. I was in that stage for about 8 months but all women will differ on the timescale.
It is good because it signals, where you are at in the shut down process and negates the need for silly blood tests. Wise menopause specialists always judge their patients symptomatically! biggrin.gif
It sounds as if you are moving along nicely to me....................

I did the same thing, jhawley. Had horrid sweats all day long, then bone chilling cold, same time every day. Lasted for HOURS............in the heat of a Florida summer!

Not fun!!!

Everyone at work keeps asking if I am getting sick. I walk around with my lab jacket pulled tight around me and complain of goosebumps and freezing and then in a blink of an eye.........hot flash and jacket get ripped off. Gee, I hope I am not getting sick. Gotta be hormones right?

Can you have cold flashes instead of hot flashes? 'Cuz I haven't really ever had hot flashes, but I've had the cold ones for a couple of years now. How can I tell where I am along the continuum?

I get cold flashes AND hot flashes. Have posted several times about them....shivering in 85 degrees, sweating in 60 degrees. Crazy.

I started out getting cold flashes. Then it changed to a combination of both, at the same time, on different body parts. Now take hrt, while still in peri, and only get some mild hot flashes while exercising. JZZ

Dear 'JZZ'
It is true that HRT does a great job but as you rightly pointed out it does not stop all symptoms but make them much more bearable.
I have been on HRT for many years, and whilst a very satisfied customer, will still have the occasional hot or cold flash

All the Best
Elizabeth.
