Lindy,
Not sure what you are talking about. Are you referring to a symptom that feels like firey ants are biting you? -------------------- I am not a doctor. My advice and opinions should not be taken as medical advice or diagnosis. They are just opinions based on extensive research and personal experience. I encourage everyone to explore all information about your health issues and discuss it with your doctor.

This is formication (with an M). If you do a search of the boards, you'll see that lots of women, me included, have/had this awful symptom.
That was my worst meno symptom and it drove me crazy! Good luck! -------------------- |

OMG i thought i had it before, it was so bad this morning. does anyone know what causes this and what can i do to help it????? lindy Dear'lindymac' These itchies are enough to send you insane. My scalp was the biggest culprit.Felt sure I had lice.Eventually my friendly Pharmacist gave an Anti-histamine.Two tablets to take at bedtime. After about a week the constant itching subsided and I slept better too. I have heard that some ladies use Benadryl with very good results.Try to have a warm not hot bath before bed and use a non-scented body lotion all over. Here's hoping you get relief soon. All the Best Elizabeth |

OMG i thought i had it before, it was so bad this morning. does anyone know what causes this and what can i do to help it????? lindy Dear Lindy I know that feeling of an ant bite.Suddenly a sensation \of an intense sharp, fiery bite.Sometimes I will get a little collection of red pimples that actually do resemble bites, they itch but I know they are not really bites.Sometimes I will apply Calomine Lotion to stop me scratching as well as take the anti-histamine which I mentioned earlier. Please try not to worry .It seems that many women have this strange symptom as Hormones fluctuate. Stay Well All the Best Elizabeth |

if it's a bite-y feeling, i don't know.
if it feels like ants crawling under your skin, I can sympathise.... I go out for a walk if at all possible. On the basis that an overloads of ALL my senses , sometimes helps the itching appear to be less. All that smell of rain, the sights, the noise, I run my hands through leaves or along wet concrete/ glass and i always take something to eat, even cheese. I want to experience ANYthing, other that that nasty itchy feeling! gx |

The hot crawling skin is horrible. I have found that a hot shower is good, but then I never want to get out. And we are in a drought too! I can't take antihistamines because they make me ga-ga. I am going to try a herbal remedy I have heard about (gotu kola). Supposed to be good for circulation and relaxation. On another point, my husband says that it is menopausal women who cause global warming! He was joking of course, but it did give me a laugh.
