Lately I have been dealing with strange feelings that awaken me during the night. The best I can describe it is, I awaken to a feeling of a moving sweeping feeling from feet to head, feels like my body is trying to wake up before I am ready??? Hard to describe. I will start to drift back off to sleep and then it surges again and will continue so I have to get up. This is such an awful feeling.
It doesn't feel like a panic attack or a flight to flee. Can any one help??

I don't have this, but I do have insomnia and trouble staying asleep once I finally do fall asleep. I also have a lot of anxiety during the night time. I don't have any answers, just wanted you to know that you are not alone. Just one more beautiful symptom of perimenopause.

Yes, I have experienced these weird feelings. I do think that it is all tied in with adrenaline surges. They are very surreal and disturbing. I used to feel that I was forgetting to breathe and my body was waking me up to stop me dying. I know that sounds a little dramatic but I did not dream up these weird sensations, they were very real. I began to dread going to bed when they were at their worst. I did find that I needed to get up and have walk round. I am 16 months post and they seem to have passed. Touch wood!

I have been experiencing those weird night things, insomnia, etc on and off for at least 4 years. It's kinda like restless syndrome in your whole body but then I get the extreme hot flashes with it. I too dread going to bed at night because of these symptoms but at the same time I can't wait to go to bed to get away from the shaking (inside and out) and the stress of life. Some nights are worse than others as are the days. I so happy to hear someone say they will stop (knock on wood for you)!

I usually get them every month! I'm crossing my fingers that I won't get them this month since I started estrogen...the adrenaline surges are usually only in the luteal phase of my cycle which I'm in now...

Best Wishes,
