Well...Um...where to begin.... huh.gif

For the past several months I've had episodes of bleeding/spotting etc which killed the mood for me. Now, normally I'm kind of a hot-cha-cha-cha momma & the one who initiates "the act" more often than not in our marriage.

Well, it's going on 3 1/2 weeks with no spotting, no bleeding etc and now I find I'm scared to start doing the deed again. I never ever avoided it before--only during my "lady's days". I'm actually grateful if hubby falls asleep first because that takes the pressure off. It's not that I'm not...um...well..horny, it's that I'm actually afraid and I can't even put my finger on why.
Maybe I'm afraid I'll start bleeding again?? Maybe I'm afraid it will hurt? For pete's sake, I feel like a virgin again!! dry.gif

Can anyone relate? Any suggestions? After 22 years of marriage this should be like rolling off a log.... sad.gif

Book I haven't dealt with the off and on spotting yet, but For a while I had that fear and for some un-known reason I could not figure out why, I guess some-where in the back of my mind I was afraid it would cause bleeding.
Now I feel this is the problem your fearing you will start spotting again since you have been blood-free for 3 weeks, So what you need to do is put that out of your mind, like I had to do and say to "Yourself oh well, what will be will be" that's the way I over-come that fear that is going on with you....
I do hope you can get past this, and you can just don't let the fear of the "What If" over-power your mind.

Thanks for your reply, bluey. I guess I am pretty much alone in this or I'm sure I would have gotten more responses. sad.gif

I'll work it out eventually...

Hi Booky,

A few years ago I had a bleeding problem, constant periods and spotting inbetween. They found a cyst on my ovary. It made having sex very difficult. In my situation I had to have a surgery to fix the problem. I can feel for you, I know once this is behind you, you will get back to your old self and be a hot cha cha cha!!! tongue.gif

If this has been going on for several months, that is why you are fearing the sex situation. When you are ready, make sure you have plenty of the lotions and potions to make it less irritating, keep positive.

Don't let too much grass grow under your feet. wub.gif

Hugs, Juliann

Dear Booky

Sorry not to have responded sooner. When I was changed from one HRT to another I had spotting and bleeding for almost six months and yes intercourse'the deed' seem to aggravate it more.I had myself checked out to be told "Elizabeth I did advise you to go off the HRT and this is the result" accompanied by smug smile

Anyway,to cut to the chase, underwent all relevant Tests.Normal results.Only then did he say that the spotting would clear up as this oftens happens as body adjusts to new hormones!
Sure enough it did clear up but took almost six months.Funnily enough it never bothered my husband much just me.I felt very embarassed

Did you investigate the cause of the bleeding and spotting? because sometimes the vaginal walls become alittle thinner and drier over time and there are many creams and suppositories to help.

I hope you get some answers soon.

Warm Wishes
Elizabeth

Booky- it's like riding a bike biggrin.gif

Sounds like your having anticipatory sex anxiety. So you hang on to the sheets with a firm grip… who cares? The sooner you give it a try, the sooner you’ll get over it. I just think you don’t want to bang anything up in there after the horrible bleeding spell you went thru. Understandably so....

As Nike says: Just Do It laugh.gif Seriously.... waiting just prolongs the agony!
