I have severe atrophic vaginitis....for three months now. Had used on two occasions Premarin cream but had adverse reaction, i.e., nauseousness and up set stomach. Now awaiting estriol cream with testosterone from compounding pharmacy (scripted by GYN). Was wondering if anyone has had any bad reaction from vitamin E supp.?? This vitamin does not cure the atrophy or dryness through out the body. And if anyone has success with estriol cream? Oh, I used back in 2004 Vagifem which is estradiol and got nauseous on the fourth day. Yes, I have a very senstitive stomach/body to meds of any kind.

I too had a bad reaction from Premarin then Estrace my body didn't like either. It's only been 2 weeks since using the Estring and already I am seeing an improvement in my symptoms. At first I really was having problems emotionally knowing I had to have this ring thing inside of me but I am finding I cannot tell it is there and the amount of estrogen that comes from this is very low. This may be something that would work for you. It is just estrogen which is something I was told your probably not allergic too since we had this in our bodies before menopause but it is the cream (delivery stuff that the estrogen is in) that causes sensitivity. I am however still slightly dry and started last night using vitamin E inside so I cannot yet say if this helps or not. |

cleverlee
Estring actually contains estradiol, is much stronger than estriol and contains the same type of estrogen as Vagifem. So if you have had problems with Vagifem in the past then Estring could cause problems too. Vitamin E oil does help and has the advantage of absolutely no side effects. I have used it myself in the past. It works ok but I found I had a funny smelling discharge from it and I prefer Replens. janet c |

I have been going thru perimenopause for 7 years..and I had severe VA....the HRT helped, but if I get super stressed, eat too much suger or wear my jeans too tight, it can flare up. BTW...premarin and Estrace did NOTHING!!! my VA was too far gone. The Vitamin Suppostories saved my life..after I had tried everything else...I know a lot of women think shoving a vitamin capsule that u buy from GNC will work...but it has to be specifically a vitamin E suppostorie....they are wonde4rfu. I keep 4 boxes of 24 in the fridge at all times! |

That's what I used- capsules. They were bright yellow and I think it was when the shell melted that I got the horrid discharge and smell. I can't buy vit E suppositories in UK, but I am fine with the Replens now anyway. It is good to know the suppositories work (if you can get them! ) janet c |

The pain was unbearable. The estring is working or at least seems like it is. Premarin and Estrace caused more problems than I had before. I hope this continues. |

Yes I remember that when I first started the Replens it did used to sting somewhat. After a while that stopped and now it is fine. I wish I could use estring or similar. All these things go straight into my bloodstream and I feel terrible though! At least there is Replens or Vit E for those who can't tolerate the hormone route. I hope it continues to work for you ! janet c |
