Hi Girls I'm telling you. Seems that the material of the pants i wear affects how bad my vulva itch. I don't wear underwear, haven't in years and years...........maybe i should, but i don't think thats the cause............. sometimes the vulva and clitoral hood itches so bad, that when i go pee, i take the toilet paper and rub so hard, it shreds to pieces, (reminds me of that commercial "no pieces left behind" by Charmin lol. BTW a commercial we can all do without. You know how your dog will kick his leg when he's scratching behind his ear? Thats me on the toilet itching my pee pee LOL. So anway, seems that loose jersey fabric makes it the worst, hard to tell. I hate to wear underware because of the way it makes my little fat places poke out LOL. |

Ummm, perhaps cotton underwear can help? I can't imagine not wearing undies, I think it is highly unhygienic, but it is just me. Try 1% OTC cortisol cream when you have the itchiness, it helps like nothing else, and don't run, it will leave your skin raw and then it will be very tender and will make matter worse. -------------------- I feel like there is a party going inside me ...but I am not invited

Oh Erin - sounds like you're having a terrible time - you must feel so sore -- have you been to see the doctor about it? I went through a phase where I didn't wear underwear either -- it can be very liberating! Iradan --- You must try it one day - you never know, you might get to like it LOL! |

Ummmm, thanks, for me liberation has different meaning than just not wearing underwear. -------------------- I feel like there is a party going inside me ...but I am not invited

Darlin', synthetic, dyed material (coated with chemicals) rubbing against your girly bits is most likely your problem. Try some white cotton crotch undies and a skirt for a while and see if it heals up. I got so bad that even soft pj bottoms were too irritating to wear. Sigh ...

Start wearing some plain cotton panties and see if that helps. Di -------------------- If one door opens to another door closed, I hope you keep walking till you find a window...

I agree that wearing cotton underwear might help. It might help to aborb moisture which would otherwise cause you to possibly itch. I would imagine with no underwear, there would probably be nothing to absorb the moisture and sweat, hence would cause irritation, chafing, itching, etc. That is just my opinion. I think wearing the cotton panties would really help to keep things dry and hence less irritable. I personally cannot stand not wearing underwear. I tried not sleeping in them at times and I could never fall asleep. It just feels icky and uncomfortable.

"I hate to wear underware because of the way it makes my little fat places poke out." Good advice..... underwear with a cotton crotch at least and maybe in a size larger. -------------------- There is a tiny violet flower that grows around the lowly shepherd's cottage and in the silence of the night gently breathes, "Forget me not." |

Good points!
Cotton underwear Cotton unbleached pantiliner, frequently changed throughout the day (you can find them by looking on the internet) Drink plenty of water...sounds like your urine may be strong. Use cotton wool to wipe yourself (may be the bleach in the toilet paper) Use your bidet with a small drop of vinegar in to regularly wash Don't use soap, use an intimate wash I can't go without underwear as my pelvic floor lets me down! -------------------- If I've thought it... it's a fact!

Hi, you sound like me rubbing until the toilet tissue shreds! This has been going on for about 8 weeks. I'm seeing another doctor next month. My primary doctor said I had bacterial vaginosis and threw me on some horse pills for 7 days. It didn't touch it. So I'm seeing a real gyn doctor next month. I'm hoping she has a lot of knowledge about the bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. I can't wait!!! My itching extends from the clitoris and up between the cheeks. I use vagisil and even desitin. It helps, but I change my underwear at least three times a day to keep it dry down there. I do believe it is the hormonal changes. I also have no odor and I think the discharge is just the oozing from scratching too hard. I hope you are doing better and I hope this information helps someone else too. I'm glad I came upon this site. I'm gonna try the vitamin E supp. that was suggested on this site. Bye |

Funny how we always think we're the only ones who have a problem. It's nice to know I'm not the only tp-shredder around. I've been controlling it by keeping my fingernails ultra-short, banning tp with any perfumes, and using fragrance free flushable wipes when it gets bad.
My next move is to hypo-allergenic laundry detergents and bath soaps. I think I should talk to my doctor though, I'm not sure why it never occurred to me that it was more than a sensitivity to perfumes. Guess I just didn't want to face the possibility of having to deal with more medical stuff. Menopause should be called womenotorture. ::sigh:: -------------------- "Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable, let's prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all."
