i'M 45 NOW AND WENT INTO MENO AT AGE 40. i DIDN'T GO ON ANYTHING UNTIL 2 MONTHS AGO. I STARTED ON CLIMARA PATCH AND DID GET A PREIOD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 5 YEARS. IT LASTED 11 DAYS. I DECIDED TO STOP THE PATCH ALL TOGETHER AND DOCTOR SAID EXPECT A PERIOD. SO I'LL JUST WAIT AND SEE. I DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE IN ANY OTHER HRTS SO I'M NOT SURE.

Dear 'Trent'

It depends on which HRT you take. Some allow you to have amonthly bleed and some are taken continuously with no monthly bleed but there is always a certain amount of spotting and breakthrough bleeding for quite a while. This usually settles down after about six months.

I am 57 and have been on HRT for many years. The Gyno.changed me to Angeliqu about six months ago and I do get spotting and small amount of bleeding and spotting. However, this is better for me than not being on the hormones.

Discuss with your Gyno posible options .I have read that Fem HRT is one that is least likely to cause spotting.Am also going to ask my pharmacist about it after the holidays

Good Luck
Warm Wishes
Elizabeth
