Hi everyone,
This is driving me nuts here. I have always been a person with cold hands and feet. I also have Raynauds syndrome. Then this past year, I got hot and sweaty all the time. My Raynauds even got better. It felt nice to always be warm. Even though everyone else in the house would freeze, I was toasty. I wake up with night sweats, but at least I was not freezing all the time.......... Now, I am having trouble even typing this because my fingers are frozen! But the kicker is, I am hot in my torso. My feet are cold as well. I guess I would describe this as cold and clammy on the feet and hands, but hot and cold sweaty on my torso. What is this!!!!!! My thermostat is all messed up. Does anyone else have this problem.. Now of course my head is doing the SYMPTOM SURFING where I am imagining all sorts of sicknesses and diseases and what not. Does this crap ever get better. I am so tired of HEALTH anxiety I could just throw up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi Debra, The total loss of your body thermostat is absolutely par for the course. It is always wise to keep an eye on symptoms but I think that it is very unlikely that you are dying of some terrible disease. I have always been extremely slim and fit and quite frankly didn't know how to sweat or get overheated, even in the most extreme conditions. At menopause I became a hot, sweaty, smelly blob! Just five minutes after my morning shower I became 'not nice to know.' I had to accept that my body could no longer control temperature as it always used to. I also reacted badly to cold temperature fluctuations too. The good news is that it is a temporary situation and it does improve, honestly! My internal thermostat is nearly back to normal, thank-goodness. I really did not enjoy being a hot sweaty blob! Regards, XIII |

Regards, XIII Thanks XIII, I've always been small and not a lot of padding, except for this new 7lbs of pure blubber hanging off my gut. Lumpy blubber, thank you. I have not been able to exercise for a couple of months due to low back pain and fatigue. Now I can just add: Out of shape, lumpy blubber gut thats sweaty cold, hot and clammy. Yummy. I could get a date with that description, maybe in the waters out of Alaska............ |

I've developed the "cold hands and feet" too. Never been a problem until now. After reading your post, I guess it's just another thing to chalk up to hormones.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but my body temperature has always ran around 97.6, until peri hit and it has run as low as 95. |

Today I experienced something very strange. I have been freezing to death from head to toe. While at the doctor's office, I experience a hot flash. So, I know my chest skin and neck are red as a beet, and my cheeks feel hot, but I am still freezing everywhere else. Has anyone else experienced this? I had my Thyroid tested within the last year and it was normal. Oh yes, I am now on day 70 since my last period.
-------------------- I'm still a HOT BABE, it just comes in flashes!

For me it's the hands, feet, and butt...Sometimes it's just the right hand that gets cold. My feet will be cold and clamy, mostly cold. Sometimes I'll walk around the house with gloves on. When I take my temperature it's usually around 97.3.

Please make sure to have your thyroid tested for thyroid symptoms often include cold hands and feet. Might want to do a search on the internet to read about it.

Make sure they do the following tests... TSH Test Free T4 / Free Thyroxine Total T4/Total Thyroxine/Serum Thyroxine Total T3/Total Triiodothyronine Free T3 / Free Triiodothyronine T3 Resin Uptake (T3RU) Thyroglobulin/Tg Reverse T3 Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies (TPOAb) / Antithyroid Peroxidase Antibodies Thyroglobulin Antibodies / Antithyroglobulin Antibodies Thyroid-Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSI) / TSH Stimulating Antibodies (TSAb) Most doctors do the basic panel....that doesn't always show your thyroid as off balance. Thyroid runs in my family... Good way to find a good doctor.... google: Top thyroid doctors.... place in your state ....read through the comments made by patients. That's what I did....most of these GP's are useless....half the endo's too. Yep -------------------- |

A hot flash for me is where my body just gets chilled to the bone and then my chest, neck amd head began to get hot while my hands and feet remain freezing, I mean ice while my face is beet red....my thyroid is fine. My chills that everyone talks about coming after comes along side and even before....that is usually how I know one is coming....I suddenly start to freeze for no good reason. Mikki

The absolute accident of your physique thermostat is actually par for the course. It is consistently astute to accumulate an eye on affection but I anticipate that it is actual absurd that you are dying of some abhorrent disease. I accept consistently been acutely abbreviate and fit and absolutely bluntly didn't apperceive how to diaphoresis or get overheated, even in the a lot of acute conditions. At menopause I became a hot, sweaty, evil-smelling blob! Just 5 account afterwards my morning battery I became 'not nice to know.
