Hi Ladies
I have been having the worst skin luck. First it was flaky and scaly(I have that under control thanks to you ladies) and now I'm suffering from a small break-out. My skin seems to be constantly metamorphosing. I've used everything astringents, benzoyl peroxide and I've even resorted to using calomine lotion which believe it or not works great for spot therapy. However I am tired of just using the spot therapy.Does anybody know of a good and gentle acne product? I'm thinking of trying Pro-activ Solution has anybody tried it? What about acne complex? Please ladies help me out I'm hoping that there is some acne sufferers out there that know the secret to clear skin. Until then I guess I'll just be connecting the dots..... Thank-you ever so much for your help and enjoy your evening Tara |

Hi, Tara.....I do not suffer from acne problems, but both of my kids have and the Proactiv works well for them. However, they only use the cleanser, as they found that the toner irritated their skin even further. It has salicyclic acid in it, and my daughter cannot use any products (even make-up) that contain this, as it makes her break out even more. My son also likes the proactiv repairing lotion. And they have some prescription meds from the doctor that they use when needed.
That being said, teenage skin is different from older skin, so not sure how well it would work for you. You might be irritating your skin by trying too many different things on it. Hopefully someone else who has experienced acne will chime in. Good luck! gardenbear -------------------- ~~~gardenbear~~~ ![]() Please visit my power-surge blog! |

Anyone? Dear'Tara' You might find that an antibiotic from your Dermatologist might do the trick. This acne at this time of life is quite common as our hormones adjust but I realise how hard it is for you.Everyone of us likes to look our best. Try to avoid hot and spicy foods, also sugar. These can aggravate an already sensitive skin.As a last resort there is also Laser.I saw it performed on a lady with acne and it did a great job.She was given some special creams to protect the sensitive skin. Results seemed promising. Hope I have been of some help,my friend Warm Wishes Elizabeth |

Hi gardenbear and Elizabeth
Thank-you so much for your replies. I know that skin at my age can be touchy. I've decided to try the Pro-activ solution and if all else fails see a dematologist. It is so frustrating as I a was not an acne sufferer as a teenager. Oh well in the grand scheme of things it could be a lot worse and I still have my heatlth. You know that old saying heath is wealth! Thank-you again ladies Tara |

I have been getting worse and worse acne. The majority of it is around my jaw line and neck. I would suggest the Dermaologist. She told me that Menopausal acne is the worse to treat. I have several topical acne cremes I put on in both morning and night. She also said any Neutrogena products are excellent. I recently have had some laser treatments and a vacumn treatement to un clog the pores. There is help out there. I suggest if you aren't seeing result with over the counter or Pro-activ try this route. It's well worth it, to feel better at this time in our lives. Hi ladies
My acne appears to be under control. I use an exfoliating scrub then a sensitive skin toner and I use the Pro-activ toner and repairing lotion. The benzoyl peroxide is only 2.5 percent and is not overdrying. I only wash my skin at night and find that it is not as irritated as it used to be. Thanks for all the advice ladies! All the best Tara |
