Hi! My name is Linda-just a little history. While unsuccessfully trying to conceive our first child, I (29 years old) was told I had "premature ovarian failure." I am currently 38 years old. I had horrible Meno symptoms for a couple of years and finally my gyno put me on HRT. I feel a heck of a lot better but, still have one HUGE HUGE PROBLEM. I have such bad vaginal atrophy that my husband of 10 years and I haven't had sex in approx 8 months!!!!! It literally does not fit--sorry don't know how else to say it. And, when I mean excruciating pain--I literally cry--and I'm not wimpy and can take a lot of pain. I am currently on FemHRT and my doc just prescribed Vagifem (25 MCG) tabs to insert vaginally. I just started taking both for approx a week, but a part of me is a little worried that it's a lot of estrogen.
I will do ANYTHING to be able to have sex again with my husband (poor guy!). It's too soon to tell if this is going to help me or not. Anybody else in the same boat and have any thoughts or recommendations????? Thanks!!!!!!!! Linda |

Hi,
My heart goes out to you. I have a condition that makes sex very painful (Interstitial Cystitis), so understand how challenging this can be. Praying the VagiFem works for you... If not, then you may have to find "other" ways to seek the nurturing and pleasure of sex. We had to do this during the latter years of menopause. There are good books about this. Blessings to you, JJ -------------------- The sky and sun are always there; it's the storms and clouds that come and go.

Dear Linda: That is not too much estrogen at all; try it for at least a month, and periodically try having intercourse along the way, to see if working or not. If not you could contact us to talk about an Estriol/Testosterone vaginal cream on prescription from your doctor that may work better for you? Possibly also, the FEM HRT is still not strong enough, and it sounds as if it is not. We can help you come up with a dose suggestion trying the natural human identical hormones instead. We will ask at that point that you have the doctor order them from our pharmacy for you also. We do accept hundreds of insurance plans and we do ship everywhere. Thank you, Pete Hueseman, R.Ph., P.D. Thank you to all who responded!!!!!!!! I have been on the FemHRT along with the Vagifem (8 days straight) with no relief yet. I REALLY need to figure this out as it is frustrating for me...I cannot imagine my poor husband of 10 years!!!!!!
Thanks, I'll give Vagifem a month and see how it's going. Linda |
