Hi! My name is Linda-just a little history. While unsuccessfully trying to conceive our first child, I (29 years old) was told I had "premature ovarian failure." I am currently 38 years old. I had horrible Meno symptoms for a couple of years and finally my gyno put me on HRT. I feel a heck of a lot better but, still have one HUGE HUGE PROBLEM. I have such bad vaginal atrophy that my husband of 10 years and I haven't had sex in approx 8 months!!!!! It literally does not fit--sorry don't know how else to say it. And, when I mean excruciating pain--I literally cry--and I'm not wimpy and can take a lot of pain. I am currently on FemHRT and my doc just prescribed Vagifem (25 MCG) tabs to insert vaginally. I just started taking both for approx a week, but a part of me is a little worried that it's a lot of estrogen.
I will do ANYTHING to be able to have sex again with my husband (poor guy!). It's too soon to tell if this is going to help me or not. Anybody else in the same boat and have any thoughts or recommendations????? Thanks!!!!!!!! Linda |

Linda Dear Linda Welcome to the Forum and so many ladies will respond to you very soon.I was also fully Menopausal at 39 with vaginal atrophy but must admit that it took almost six weeks for the HRT to really kick in and then big improvement in fit and comfort!So please do not despair it just takes a little time and patience. Meanwhile have you tried the KY Jelly for lubrication?Do not worry about the estrogen at this point as you are prematurely Menopausal and you are just supplying your body with what it was already manufacturing.Also hold off on the intercourse until you feel the effects of the HRT and try some imaginative ways of pleasuring your husband. Wow, I am not going through that but that sound awful. You poor thing! Does this only happen to some women in menopause? Do all women go through this? I think I read about that before but not sure if it happens to all women. I hope u find relief soon and u are able to have sex again comfortaly. You are way too young not to be enjoying great sex with your husband. Vaginal atrophy sounds like a horrible meno symptom.

My dear Friend Some people just sail through the Menopause but for others it is quite a traumatic transition.
