I've been having sore nipples and the montgomery glands on both breasts seem to be more pronounced since my last period three weeks ago. I'm 55 and been having periods every three months or so, but the last one came at a month interval. Anyone experience breast tenderness ?? Thanks~

I have read somewhere that extremely sore nipples can be a sign of estrogen excess but at 55 you would think it would be the opposite wouldn't ya. Maybe you have just had a sudden surge of estrogen before it lowers down for good.

I have found that EFAs and 500mg of Magnesium has really helped my breast tenderness. Definitely eliminate the caffeine in your diet, as that is known to make breast tenderness worse.

I went through a bout of breast tenderness. It got so bad, particularly before my period, that I couldn't let my man hug me. It hurt far too much. But the odd thing was this -- out of the blue they quit hurting. Not entirely but probably by 90%. And at the same time I noticed that my breasts were much MUCH softer. My breasts used to be very dense and now they're like bread dough. I've heard that the mammary glands and tissue fade away as a woman ages and is replaced by fatty tissue. I've been curious if the pain I was having was somehow connected to that tissue breaking down. I know they hurt when they were growing in during puberty. Why couldn't they hurt now, when they're breaking camp?
And I also have found that caffeine intake changes how tender my breasts are -- more caffeine=more pain. -------------------- Webalina

i was going to post this as a seperate post, well, i guess i still will .......but, I have this too! I don't have the nipple soreness as much, but my LEFT breast (everything with me is ALWAYS on the left!) is so darn sore and tender! WHY ONLY ONE BREAST? -------------------- __________________
