Does anyone have problems with an itchy face and scalp? Mine are really itchy and I have some little red spots on my upper cheeks . . . almost seems like they are starting to get little scars. It also gets really itchy around my jawline at times. I am hoping to get to the dermatologist soon but wondered if anyone else was going through this and if it might be hormonal or allergies. Thanks for any input.

maybe rosacea? Have you ever had pimples, redness, etc. before? Were you doing something previously before this happened, ie, a walk, or run or gardening in humid or hot weather? if so, could it be prickly heat?

Itchy scalp (this has been driving me crazy for the past year) may be related to seborrea dermatitis?

I have rosacea and mainly any itching will be on my forehead. but I did get very itchy cheeks after a short walk in the park. But no spots, rash, etc.

Just throwing things out there. Defn, the place to start is a good dermatologist. Sue

Can sores on your scalp be related to rosacea? I am having an awful time with my rosacea, and I have several sores on my scalp that are hurting like crazy. I can't see them, but they are so sore. Anyone have any idea what I can use on them? I have been using Neosporin ointment, but it's not helping much. Thanks, Hope

Yes! I have had some itchy/flaky spots near my ears and neck on my scalp for about 6 months, and a itchy/red forehead. I also have some spots on my lower cheek. And my knuckles are itchy, red, and generally look irritated! I have an appointment with a derm...in January! Good thing I'm not really sick, right? My family doctor said it was eczema and prescribed Triaminalone (sp?) cream, but said I should only use it for a week on my face, so that's not really helpful. I tried Selsun Blue for my scalp and that made it worse-my itching was severe after that. I use gloves at night with moisturizing lotion for my hands and that doesn't seem to help much either. I am wondering if I am sensitive to shampoos or maybe have something other than eczema. I guess I will find out in January.

hi there...may I suggest that you see a Dr. I too had sores on my head. The doctor initially thought I had eczema on my head, but I figured out that it was shingles! They were very sore. It could be anything however and not serious at all. I am glad I went to the Dr. let me put it that way.

Sincerely,
Suzanne

Well, I've had shingles, and I KNOW it's not that. I have a Dr. appointment in January, and I am looking for some input until then. I've already seen my family Dr. and the cream she gave me (as I said above) is not helping.

I am having an issue with burning, itchy spot on my scalp also. I have had tinnitus for a few years but it is worse on the opposite side where the bothersome spot is. What causes this to happen? Also, I have a dentist appointment this coming week because I have some issues with my upper jaw teeth (on the same side as the scalp burning) Is there any relationship to all of this mess?
I haven't colored my hair since September, so it's not that. My water is well water and it has quit a bit of lime deposit in it. I just don't know what is going on. I see myself going to my dermatologist soon, too.

Hi, yes I have a few red spots, pus filled, on the cheeks and itchy dry areas around the hair line, eyebrows, nose creases, chin and jaw line. I believe this is hormonal too. I use a dandruf shampoo, dime size amount, on my face and it seems to work. I rinse well after waiting about a minute. Then I use a good lotion. Hope this helps someone.
Bye

Dear 'senecaguns'
the itchy scalp drove me mad.Always asking my daughter to check for lice. Then I read an article on formication as being a Menopausal symptom. Then I got an over the counter anti-histamine.It helped. Also found a great gentle shampoo called L'Oreal age densiforce which is gentle and effective.

Please keep us posted and really hope you ger something to help

God Bless
Elizabeth

SLS-sodium lauryl sulfate (and it's many derivatives)-is a cleanser that is found in almost all shampoos, soaps, and toothpastes. It can cause those types of rashes and sores. I had to switch to products without SLS and am better off. Here's some good info. Notice the connection with mouth burning.
