I'm really at my wits end. My doctor didn't suggest a hormone blood test before his 'girl' just handed me some premarin samples to 'try'. They know I don't have health insurance right now, so maybe that's the reason but JEEZE......LOUISE Thats like handing a diabetic an insulin pill without doing a blood test or blood sugar test. SHOULD I FIND A NEW DOCTOR???? Whoops, i should have posted this under the DOCTORS message forum. sorry |

Hi Erynn,
I found a new doctor after mine gave me premarin samples too. I came home, googled them and decided I didn't want anything to do with them. That was then, this is now. After trying BHRT for 18 months and still not getting the right dose while all my hyster sisters are feeling good on their synthetics.. I'm thinking maybe the premarin wouldn't be so bad. My Doctor did take blood samples and knew my estradiol was low along with my fsh being high but I think he would have given them to me anyway. I think some doctors just recognize the symptoms enough to know what is going on and if you are using a synthetic with a non-customized dose I'm not sure blood samples would help. If I had an established trusting relationship with him/her, then I might give them a chance especially if I didn't have insurance. I know many doctors will give meds out just to help the patient. -------------------- Carol

Good point Carol. Are you still having periods? Terri |
