Hello All,
It's been a few days since I've visited. Not because I didn't want to, but I've got family coming from out of town, and it took awhile to coax me out from under the bed!! I went to see my doctor yesterday and he put me on Prempahse. I'm very wary of taking it. I did the Vivelle Dot Patch and it made me crazy, as well as some Estrogen cream. Doc states we should go this route for a bit. Has anyone tried this hormone? What benefits if any have you had? I've had an increase in my hot flashes and moodiness, but I'm not sure that these are enough reasons or intense enough for me to start on hormones again. With my "visitors" coming I'm overly stressed and wiped out. So I'm not sure starting this hormone now would be a good idea and I may not be able to evaluate it properly. I'd be interested in anyone else's experience with this hormone. Please remember me this next week as I try and entertain my parents, sister and her family, and some friends. I may actually need some Thorazine as opposed to hormones!! -------------------- Krissy
Sometimes I lie awake at night and think, "Where did I go wrong," and then someone says to me, "This is going to take more than one night." |

Krissy - I have not had experience with this particular hormone - but know from experience how unbelievable difficult it can be to have guests at this time of our lives - and the anxiety we experience even before they arrive - just try to be good to yourself and not hold yourself to any standard of perfection.
Thinking of you and hoping the visit turns out to be an unexpectantly pleasant one. Hugs Pook |

Krissy,
First I want to say--good luck with your visitors and try to enjoy them if you can. I don't have experience with Premphase but I did try oral contraceptives and they made me depressed. I would be wary of the synthetic hormones too--there are many other bioidentical options other than the Vivelle patch--maybe you should try them first. After doing a lot of reading and research, I've decided the bioidenticals are safer. However, quality of life is important and if Premphase works for you then maybe you could try it for a few months and see how you do. |
