Im hoping somebody can give me suggestions on what to do to help me
get me desire back to iniate sex. I often have the desire for sex, just dont have the drive to start it. Hubby and I go to bed and I pray that he will iniate it as I want it, and when he doesnt I fall asleep disappointed. Its not that he dont want it, he knows my desire isnt as strong as it used to be since I started menopause. My dr wont prescribe testostone and I take 1mg of estradiol. Any suggestions will be a BIG life saver!! |

If you think you need testosterone, find a new doctor, get a T. blood test, then get started on topical testosterone. Life is too short to stay with a doctor who will not help you to feel your best.
In the meantime, find another way to initiate sex with your husband. Tell him before you go to bed. Email or call him on his cell phone, text him on his cell phone, or just tell him in the living room before you get to the bedroom. Is your estradiol oral? Oral estrogens cause an increase in sex binding hormone that binds up our testosterone! If you are on oral, switch to topical and get some of your own testosterone back. Dr. Vliet talks about the advantages of topical estradiol on her radio program. You can listen by going to her site and clicking the radio programs. Her site is called Her Place. Good luck! Kathy |

Kathy, you so often post such great info ! I did not know that about estradiol. I am not yet supplementing any E's, I will remember this when it's time. (I think it might be soon, perhaps early next year.)
-------------------- I wish all of you the best of luck ! Remember, whether your peri or fully menopausal, TRY BHRT FIRST ! You might be surprised at how well it relieves your symptoms and how many unexpected benefits you experience ! I feel better now at age 48 than I did at age 40 !
