Hello--I am new to this site. I am getting off zoloft. I have been on it for a little over 1 year. Anyway.I went to a Dr.. We decided I should discontinue Zoloft. Well I stopped taken it (he just said stop--no wheening or anything) and immediately started getting really tired and had a really weird headache--like I was dizzy. I was searching on line and found this site. ( I am not actually menopausal) I was wondering how I should taper off Zoloft? I take 50 mg. I was searching and another site said take 25 mg--does that mean cut it in half? Anyhelp would be great.
Thanks
Diane

First of all what kind of Doctor would take you off Zoloft cold turkey? Oh well doesn;t surprise me anymore the way some doctors are these days. Yes i would try cutting zoloft in half and take it awhile. But i suggest you see another doctor for advice. Did zoloft help you? Goodluck lizardlover

yes it did--I don't feel depressed anymore. So I thought it would be a good idea to discontinue the medication. I thought it was bizarre to just stop taking it. Especially since I already had another problem with the other medication. Finding new doctors are not fun.
