Question of the Day

Q: For nearly 5 years I took both progesterone and provera each day (one tablet of each daily). for convenience sake, my doctor put me on premphase so that I only need to take one pill each day. near the end of taking the first packet of premphase I had a light menstrual period. I have not had a period except for spotting very lightly two times in five years. This month when I neared the end of taking premphrase, I had a moderately heavy menstrual period. Might this unwelcome event be due to changing the way I take my hormone replacement medication?

A: Most women on Premphase will experience bleeding. It is to be expected and it is not a problem, as long as you bleed when you're supposed to.

Good luck.
